After weeks of being silent, the Saints Row 2 (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) camp is making noise once again with the revelation of new details that will surely give fans something to look forward to.
Actually, news about these developments have been circulating around the Internet but it is only now that exact details are being revealed. Probably the most important among these is the new online co-op mode for the title.
Yep, you read right: Saints Row 2 single player missions can now be played online with the help of a friend. It seems that Volition is upping the level of competition in the sandbox genre and this move can give GTA a run for its money.
Aside from that, the gameplay mechanics and customization options have been expanded with the addition of weather effects, more responsive citizens, and vehicles to steal such as motorcycles, helicopters, and planes.
We also learned that the genre, age, crib, and voice of your character in Saints Row 2 are also customizable. Surely, these things are quite remarkable and we can't wait to see them applied in the game ourselves.

imo, the only thing in gta4 that looks any good is the character models. the rest of the game looks like it's from a previous-gen game...
but then, it's all just a matter of opinion.

gta4 even though this can NEVER sell or get praise like gta it'll be the best gta clone EVER.It defintely has features gta should have,but don't.

Anyway, the two kinds of games are great. In this one, they are copying GTA san andreas, wich I found the best f the GTA franchise up to date, so it's great. And by this time, GTA is making the 4th in a very different way, more realistic, less RPG elements. I suppose the two of them will have their little something. I see myself play a LOT more GTA4, but I'll surely buy saint's row 2 for all the customization founctions and RPG elements GTA4 won't have. Anyway, the two of them looks great, but really, Saint's row 2 cannot even really compare to GTA4, lol.

Hopefully the crib decorating isn't just a gimmick and you can change wall colours and such, plus decorate it

and i must of missed something where were the RPG elements of saints row? the rep setup? i can see how you would see that as an rpg element but in truth it doesn't have any effect on your character just the missions available. so not so much...
