The console versions of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) have been plagued by delays. Developer Ascaron Entertainment seems to have finally gotten everything in order for the game's May 12 release, but they had to pay a price for it.

According to GameSpot, the Germany-based developer has gone bankrupt after working on Sacred 2 for four delay-filled years. The dev is currently in talks with "several well-known interested parties to discuss a positive takeover."

Be that as it may, Ascaron says that their bankruptcy filing will not affect Sacred 2's launch date. The company also revealed that they are now working on a follow-up, Sacred 3, as well as an expansion for Sacred 2's PC version.

either hes a very dedicated man, or hes a pathetic one using this as his last hope....

» A few things

1 - Why is bankruptcy taken so lightly? It's kike "hey we're bankrupt and... we're making 2 new games!"

2 - It's no wonder they went broke! They spent forever making a sequel to a generic hack/slash that didn't do all that well and gave us the exact same thing, a generic hack/slash that seems to be drumming up very little hype.

This will teach developers to stop making booty ass games. Thanks QJ for this news. Maybe there IS a god after all! Told you this game SUCKS!

» Whoa..

I just read the game took 4 years......................... Wow I think a second-grade talent show has more talent than these devs. Terrible.

» mmm...

Sad to see all these people out of work, many of them very talented I'm sure. The final product is often unpolished because of bad management or lack of money put in the game and it makes the team look bad, hopefully these guys will find deserving new jobs.

It's weird to see people like "****bandit" being happy to see these all these people out of a job. These are hard times and nobody should be cheering that some honest hard working people are going to have a hard time paying their bills.

» lol yeah I'm so cold.

I'm sure they'll find work lol. They should just stay far away from developing games. They should try selling their "talents" to T.V advertisements or make some BS T.V show like Xavier: Renegade Angel. Sorry I can't feel sorry for crappy developers. I've seen worst anyway like the other day. I saw this 50 somethin year old dude while I was driving with a cardboard sing saying "Will do anything for a job". I'm not insensitive like you're trying to make me sound.

maybe not insensitive, but you sure sound like a douche

» Damn I'm aiming for..

Ah c'mon I'm better than a douche. I'm aspiring to be a smart-ass. But I don't see how expressing my opinon makes me a douche. I'm just saying what some are too scared to say.

Because you express your opinions as facts, not once did you say "I think" or "in my opinion", that's why you piss so many people off

» Nerd radar outta control!!!

lol I'm aiming to get a reaction so maybe just maybe I can keep people away from the booty ass games you call RPGs. I can't say "In my opinion" when I'm stating facts now can I? Elder scrolls... so I saw a video of it just now and LOL G-A-R-B-A-G-E. Yeah looks like every american RPG, my first reaction was ewwww. I then proceeded to splash water on eyes to avoid permanent blindness. Afterwards, I grabbed a Q-tip to cleanse my ears after hearing such dorky dialogue. Don't worry though I'm okay, before you ask. Yeah so compared to VP 1, elder scrolls and everything made by Bioware is utter disgusting green doo doo.

Yeah so why does every american RPG use uber bland graphics and super crap animations? And why such typical dialogue and story, along with poorly detailed characters? Lazy much,no talent? Ah I better run! My nerd radar is going nuts as we speak!!

Yep, Douche with a capital D.

How can someone who never played the game be wrong? I mean he saw the trailers! Well looks like mommy won't be buying him this game.

Maybe he pushed the Q-tip a little too far!

» Wow.

You need some vagisil or something? You're awfully obsessed with douche. For someone who has played the game, you have nada to say about it. By the way I saw worse, a tutorial of 9 minutes of very unpolished gameplay, with some nerd making very lame comments. I felt sorry for him that he played it numerous times to remember all the cheesy dialogue. Poor fellow. Mind answerin my question about why american devs suck at RPGs? Or do you have too much sand in your vagina?

by Silver-Tiger - 2009-04-21 21:18
» ...

your point is????

You don't like the game, fine. Don't like it, don't buy it.

But to come here and insult the devs (who don't give a s.h.i.t. about your opinion anyway) is REALLY low. What kind of nerd you must be to constanstly post comments on a game you neither own nor like?

You must be the second-coolest person on the internet, only beaten by melty.

» Bankrupt

is just a fancy word big businesses use to avoid debt collectors. Thats all really, they're looking for a bigger company to take them in so they don't have to worry about paying their own bills, if they get bought out then they win. If they don't then that will be when they lose. I'd probably get the game if it wasn't a prequel. I never even heard of the series until a few weeks back and even then it didn't sound that appealing. I was thinking about this game but then I read "2,000 years before" and said screw it. I dunno why but I see MOST prequels as a block against progress.

» I'm a nerd.

I am a nerd about 30% of the time, but you're wrong if you say I'm the second coolest person on the net! I am THE coolest. You're right I won't buy this game. However, I'm JUST giving insight to the uninformed who might make the dreadful mistake of dropping 60 bucks on what should be a 4.99 PSN game. That said I encourage anyone to pirate copies on 360 and PC. But be forewarned I take no responsibility for any damages that might occur to your eyes and ears from playing this booty.
