Rumor: Tekken 6 getting exclusive DLC when it hits the PS3?

The PlayStation used to be Tekken's console base, with a history dating back to the release of the first Tekken on the PSone. But now that Namco Bandai has decided that the latest title in the series, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, is to be released in the Xbox 360 and not just the PS3, rumors are going around that Sony might be shooting for exclusive DLC for the once PlayStation-exclusive franchise.

The DLC is rumored to contain more characters, more stages, and more moves for various characters. But if you ask me, new characters and moves are not something that Namco Bandai would do just for the sake of having exclusive DLC for PS3. I was thinking along the lines of costumes, maybe some fun game mode, but not as far as that.

If they do get PS3-exclusive characters, that's gonna be quite a draw for the PS3, although it would be strange if Namco Bandai decides to do it. Maybe they're gonna bring Angel, Gon, Ogre, and Doctor B. back? As for extra moves, no, not gonna happen hahaha. The Tekken move sets are much too precise that they have changes every version to balance it all out.

» damn y the long wait ohhh yeah being delayed cause of the 360 version

they better give me a twenty dollar discount for making me wait soo long for it to drop so they can have a simutaneous launch and new characters for ps3.

it's possible to guess at relevant DLC as exclusives, such as exclusive levels, as we saw with mirror's edge, however if you look at Bamco's "exclusive" content trend the unique stuff (i.e. Vader) just ended up on the other console eventually. EA does not equal Bamco.

Therefore, absolutely unique exclusives a lot less likely..

Everyone gets bonus points for hyping the series though, darn right there better be console exclusive stuff!

» i dont give a crap

you can give those dlc's to those xbox fans.

we want a full ps3 game out of the box.

if namco bandai can give us the option to go versus with xbox users then i would definitely pay even a hundred bucks.

kicking xbox users face on online match is priceless.

btw namco bandai miserably failed on the tons of DLC for soul calibur 4 coz few stupid people bought em, i hope they've learned their lesson.

» Heh,

You might as well call this a PS3 exclusive.

Not to be fanboyish here, but you're talking +better controls,

+possibility of more (if not ALL) DLC,

+optimized for PS3, so we may be talking better graphics.

The PS3 version will have the advantages, regardless of the wait.

I higly doubt that. Maybe something like in Soulcalibur 4, you know, exclusive chars for each console. They will be released on both consoles eventually.

» I own all 3 BTW

You would need to be able to play versus 360 players to play online anyway since nobody wants a PS3.

» YES!

Gon is back! AWESOME! i still remember the moves!

» fanboy...

its true that it will have better control and maybe even some exclusive DLC for the PS3, but better graphics? I thought everybody already knew that almost every game looks better on the 360 than on PS3, even the ones developed for the PS3 first and then ported to 360 (for example, Mirror's Edge). Just becuz a system is more powerful doesn't mean more efficient graphic-wise...

» good point

I was going to say the same thing, the ps3 controller is way more efficient for fighting games since you can easily slide your thumbs across or tap rapidly, 360 owners are going to get pwned online

» As long as....

... it's not Heihachi in a diaper again. Tekken 4 had the stupidest end boss. A comical threat is what Namco conveyed to me.

its gonna look better drop it..

the only reason i see it being ported to the 360 is because of live...

then again Xbox+tekken+ sleeping with a donkey..

just wrong...
