Rumor: PS3 Slim bundled with Madden NFL 10 coming in August? |

Ó
We already heard numerous rumors about the leaked PS3 slim before, we even have a video snippet from the Philippines just last week. Now here comes another one from the latest 1UP podcast. David Ellis has revealed that the much awaited PS3 slim will debut this August and will be bundled with the upcoming Madden NFL 10 (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, PC, PS2).Ellis said this might be the reason why Activision recently threatened Sony to abandon its platforms because they are tying the release with an EA title rather than Activision. Adding fuel to the speculation, Sony has already confirmed a massive press conference on August 18 for GamesCom but didn't give any details about the show. Madden NFL 10 is scheduled for release on August 14. So what do you think guys? Is the PS3 slim really on the way? Stay tuned.

I'm playing Fallout 3 too but I'm already starting to get sick of it. Soon both my systems will start to collect dust. And soon I'll probably buy a modded Wii just to fill in those boring days(damn it the Wii better look decent on HD TV).

Anybody who works for a living will tell you that $400 is no chump-change.

free online play: 400 (ps3) - 200 (360) + 200, that's 4 years of xbox live
blu-ray: protection already cracked, already watching on my media server system and big screen
wireless rechargeable controllers: I'll give you that one, BUT the 360's controller isn't just a carbon copy of the original xbox's. I prefer it to the dual shock.
memory card slots: my $400 PS3 has no memory card slots
built-in wifi: I'll give you that one, but my PS3 is wired nonetheless; it doesn't even have 802.11n though
USB: my PS3 has 2, my 360 has 3
full backwards compatability: my PS3 doesn't have it
my PS3 DOES, however, have a nice hard drive that came standard

Full hardware backwards compatability
Card slots
4 USB slots
500GB hdd
I wish Sony made the PS3 cheaper. It really sucks to see the better system lose to 360 just because of the price. I play my PS3 3x more than my 360.

I've been planning on getting a PS3 for about 6months now. I barely get to play my 360, and sending it to Microsoft every 3-6 months, and waiting that long is really not worth it.

but most people dont know that the 200 dollar 360 is a core console.
lets add another 100 for a 60gig hdd which is needed for online play in the first place
another 100 to give your 360 wireless connection we're now at 400 dollars hmm...
300 for 60 gig 360
400 for 120 gig 360
400 for 80 gig ps3
basic prices
but lets also consider ps3 doesnt have such a high failure rate as the 360
the ps3 does have the same controller
but lets recall e3 of 05
people complained about the attempt to give us a new controller. which is why its still the same.
the guy above i think was referring to people who jumped at the ps3 as soon as it was out.
my ps3 was 500 and includes my 4 usbs, memory card slots and full backwards capabilities. and as the guy mentioned above also... the sonys hard drive can be replace with any notebook sata. while ur limited to a 120 on the 360 in which some how 12 gigs always seems to disappear.
my ps3 also has linux... my 360 didnt manage that one... but linux is bleh...
in all words my 360 went back to gamestop and i sit happily at home with my launch unit ps3 :)

want to save money on a ps3 without a hard drive? oh, sorry, some games have a mandatory install
so 255 vs 400 - 3 years of xbox live
wifi - again, it's not vital for online play, and, I would argue that because neither have 802.11n wifi in place, I'd much prefer to have them wired in the first place
leave the wifi to low-bandwidth and portable machines
don't forget that top-of-the-line PS3s cost $600 at launch
