Rumor: PS3 getting exclusive Dragon Ball Z series |

It has been more than two decades, yet Dragon Ball is still kicking some serious balls (no pun intended). Just now, word is going around about a certain "Jipang" from the Atari forums who claims to be an insider. According to the poster, a new Dragon Ball Z series could be coming exclusively to the Sony PlayStation 3.Some speculations support the rumor, like nitpickers pointing at Donny Clay from Atari North America who mentioned a Dragon Ball game for the Sony PS3 being in the works last year. Others trust the source, who supposedly made rumors before that turned out to be true.
Jipang went as far as saying new Naruto and Gundam series may make an appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2007 this September. While many would love to believe that such big franchises will be committing to next-gen, this will have to go down the rumor mill. We'll make sure to keep you posted on any official updates, so watch this space.

I COMPLETELY LOVE THE DBZ SERIES AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO SEE A DBZ GAME ON PS3. SO 2008 WILL TRULY BE THE BEST YEAR (TO ME) TO PS3.
but i would rather have the game to be be a fighting one... maybe they could make it into an action adventure or even an RPG... the storyline of DBZ is deep enough to allow both... now that would be sweet...
Especially since it will be on Blu-Ray, limitless space for like all the characters and the storyline., and can you imagine the graphics.
Weren't the naruto games (for ps2) always developed by Bandai instead of Atari ?
I'd like to see that being continued.
As for the DBZ Title, I agree with the above said about the Action Adventure and RPG, although I would rather have an RPG though. Like that Old snes/nes game, with the cards.. I don't remember its name though
I think they'll stick to cell-shading. Much smoother and better perhaps, but I doubt it'd take much space on the disc.

I've always wanted to see another crack at an action RPG done in the DBZ universe. With The PS3 and blu-ray they should be able to easily create a cohesive game that spans the entire DBZ story with all of the said characters in it.
Or, I could go for Budokai 4!
Meh...I've been hesitant to buy a DragonBall Z game if it has the American voices...but I might buy this just to help Atari out.
But i dont really like the games. Although RPGs are not my type, it wud be best suiited for DBZ i reckon.

DBZ blows. I used to watch it back in the day, but I hated how they always left you hanging during every episode. It took like...4 episodes, or approximately 1.5 hours, for Gokou to release his khameyameha...or however you spell it. And only then, Vegeta dodged that ***** w/ the quickness. HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA .
If they kept it gritty like the Jap versions, it would have been good. I don't care for it, and the graphics can't get too much better. I mean, obviously it's going to be Cell shaded, so it'll look cartoony. Not saying that it's bad, it's just not going to require any new rendering or textures to make it look any more...real?
I hope they do what Bandai did with Gundam have the oringinal japanese voice acting
I doubt Atari can decide that, especially since they do not control Japanese releases of DBZ in the consoles. So if this happens it will happen only in some regions.
o how absolutley exciting! who needs gears when i can be playing a series which has always deepthroated huge balls but clearly everything will change for no reason! woooot
why are we getting excited over a game series that is so so at best and another milked dry pile of poo at worse. It is cool that Ps3 is getting more games, but this is not front page news. Next thing you know you'll read "New Britney's Dance Party to be Ps3 exclusive." Now thats news. Call me when a good series becomes Ps3 only.

Finally the PS3 is getting some Anime.
If they do make a dragon ball z game on PS3, they could alternate characters like goku+gohan in potara or even dragonball af stuff like SS5 goku because of the space the blu ray gives. they could also put an option where you connect to the internet and make a profile card like in DBZ shin budokai another road and fight other people on the internet, then receive each other's profile cards.
All DBZ games, when you go to audio options, you can change back to the original Japanese voices.
