A couple of months ago, we had a report from CNET saying that Sony had been talking to some recording industry types about providing downloadable music for the PSP through the PlayStation Network. Now that rumors of PS Cloud being a social networking tool has been debunked, the latest from the mill alleges that it's actually for this music service.

It's a rumor from an anonymous tipster, so take this with a huge helping of salt. PlayStation Lifestyle points out that the PS Cloud trademark Sony filed indeed covers "audio content provided via an on-demand service via the internet", but it's only one of the services covered in the filing.

Well, what do you think guys? I wouldn't mind if PS Cloud did turn out to be iTunes for the PSP and PS3, but only if Sony completely kicks its bad DRM habits. You can check out more info that possibly support the "Cloud as music service" theory in the source link.

seriously.

If going on the idea, the name, it's very possible you pay for the music but it stays on their servers for you to stream to your playstation products, thus eliminating need for massive storage devices just for music.

Dear Sony,

Please pay me to say everything you do is great, just like hush404.

I will even let you look after my music collection - because leaving my msic on a corporate network is sooo much cooler then having my own archives.

Then please - let me tattoo your logo onto my forehead and change my name to sony corporation in your honour.

Thanks. Love Pew.

now im not supporting this little deal of sony at all, but who really gives a damn? If you won't use it, fine. There are still those cats who will; there's no need to go around spamming stupid shiiiiiiii around.

Furthermore, I see you have a dislike of Sony....but why leave out Nintendo and MS?

Milo? WM+? Natal? and you're complaining about this?? LOL

and no, my mother is tired from getting pummeled from by dad

Sounds like something that could be similar to spotify but not just limited to Europe and for the PS3 and PSP.

If this does turn out as a music service, all the more power to Sony. Since the console has media center compatabilities , I'm sure some will go out to grab some of their music from this...though there exist other ways to buy music.

Also, is pewpie some kinda reincarnation of that one potato dude? He/She/It seems like some kinda troll to me ;s

I think it's great to have more choices for entertainment out there. I still prefer to buy my own cds and convert them how I see fit instead of using a music service. Maybe PS Cloud is a music video service with social networking built in. That would be awesome.

I think this is definatly a step forward for Sony. They already offer a music service for the PC, but making it available will just add more features to the PS3. Maybe this will be released with the PS3 Slim!

P.S. - To all the trolls:

Xbox is only shooters

Wii is for kids

Dear Microsoft,

Dear Sony,

Please pay me to say everything Sony does is horrible, just like pewpie.

I want to be just like pewpie and tell people to ***** their own mothers, even though that's completely disrespectful. I also want to say kiss my ***** even though that's way too many asterisks to make any type of sense. Please Microsoft I beg you.

Love,

Rocket
