The October issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine has got some very interesting bit for all your Kingdom Hearts fans out there. It appears that Kingdom Hearts III will be revealed at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show as a PS3 exclusive.Sweet stuff, eh? Well it's by no means confirmed as it was posted only in the rumors section, but it's still too juicy to pass up. To quote verbatim:
Kingdom Hearts III is currently in development as a PS3 exclusive and will be announced at the TGS.
What this statement does is to fuel further the rumors that have already been circulating as early as last year. Remember the secret trailer unlocked in Kingdom Hearts 2? We can only hope for a confirmation soon. The Tokyo Game Show is just a month away, anyway - unless of course Sony's or Square Enix' mouthpiece say a little something in advance.

Wasn't this obvious news? I never heard any rumors about this game going multiplatform or anything like that.

are crazy if you think that this is obvious. If KH3 is exclusive it will be a huge *****ing surprise considering Disney loves off the Wii and Nintendo has enjoyed enormous success with that console.

If this goes multi platform then this means the game will need to be shortened to fit on the Xbox 360 format. Companies need to really look at the fact that the Blu-Ray format is the ONLY way to go for RPG's. I bet Fallout 3 could have been so much more if it was a PS3 exclusive. I am only assuming of course.
sure disney loves nintendo, but its not going to stop SQUARE ENIX from making it on the ps3, the fact that kh 1 and 2 is on the playstation
yeah like my @$$ getting pin on someone else's house kind of exclusive...........everyone just take a deep breath and brace yourself for the bad news it's inevitable just as my loyalty and respect for Squeenix thrown into the gutter
I would be utterly shocked if this was exclusive to PS3. I would like to believe so. I would like to believe that maybe Sony bought Square a bunch of lobsters and strippers to keep this one, but this one just seems too unlikely to only stay on the PS3. We've already seen Square's view on brand loyalty.
Maybe this is some fanboyism right here, but I'd like to see my RPGs stay on the PS. I'm a huge JRPG fan and besides Disgaea I've been very underwhelmed by anything that's come out this generation(most of them being on the 360). Maybe publishers have lost their touch, talk about media formats or whatever, I don't really care. I honestly don't expect much from FFXIII anymore. But then in the end I guess it's silly to assume an RPG will be better if it stays PS3 exclusive, but with all these high profile Japanese games going multi-plat and ending up sucking (DMC4 to name just one) I guess I'm somewhat jaded.
Maybe Japanese devs make more of an effort to appeal to the western crowd when developing for the 360 but end up not knowing what the hell they're doing.

But there was a difference with that. FFXIII actually had rumors that it was NOT going to be exclusive. Their making news saying that its a rumor for KHIII to BE exclusive which doesn't make much sense (I can understand if some dev said it may go multiplat, but no one said that). Understand?
GTA4 was PS3 only, a lot more would have been included in the game too rather than being added as DLC at a later date.
Developers need to decide whether or not they want to go after the money (Square Enix) or keep their IP in the original form and accept no compromises (Kojima).
Since this is a Square Enix game, I'm sure if the game is technically possible on the 360, it will go on it, unless they have to compress it so much to fit on a reasonable amount of DVD9's for it not to be worth it. The again, I'm sure if the game is big enough, M$ will waive the royalty fee for extra discs. Then again, with there being less than 1 million 360's in Japan, it again would probably be a PS3 exclusive over there.
Didnt Nomura (if thats the guy who worked on KH, correct me if I'm wrong) say in countless interviews that KH3, even though it wouldnt be called KH3 since it would be seperate from 1 and 2, would be a PS3 exclusive? Even so with FF's new path, i think that the new KH will be PS3 exclusive.

yet I don't see you making any games, don't act like you know everything......when games comes out you run out to buy them.........it's the devs who make them and are the best at knowing the systems in and out............I'm sick and tire of this I know all about the specs of a console..............If you're that dam good and can put your money where your mouth is than fricken quit wasting your time here and make a fricken Kingdom Hearts 3 for the box3fixME

I mean Disney is a great supporter of Blu-ray so I never doubted this to be anything but exclusive to the PS3...but it were just up to Squeenix then this game might have made its way to the 360 by now or a month before release and say that its been delayed like Tball just said
Again Disney supports Blu-ray so the chances of this goin 360 is really low...Disney owns probably half of the game so 360 will never get their hands on this game...if this ever goes to the 360 i will let people b-slap me 4 being wrong
Kingdom Heart has been on the playstation2 sice the beginning and also on the gameboy and DS. I don't think SE might put it on the 360 because its been on one major console since the begining so why break a trend when it's working so well. The only reason FFXII made it to the 360 is that FF series didnt start out on the ps, it started on the SNES or whatever you call it so it had a chance of being on another console. Look at Crystal Chronicles its a final fantasty but its on the Gamecube and WII, but i highly doubt KH3 will be out on the 360, but still keep in mind that it still is a rumor. Anyway i wouldnt want my favorite game to be on 360 or any other system for that matter... It wouldnt just feel right, ya know.
