If you'll recall, we've already heard rumblings that a Marvel vs Capcom 2 remake would be released for the Sony and Microsoft consoles. Now, more fuel has been added to the rumors about a PS3 and Xbox 360 showing for the arcade hit.

This is due to the "Marvel vs Capcom Tournament Edition Arcade Stick", an arcade stick spotted on ShopTo.net. Now, while the number "2" isn't anywhere in the stick's name, the features list shows that it will be covered in officially licensed Marvel VS Capcom 2 artwork.

The stick's supposed to come out in October 7 in Europe, so if Marvel vs Capcom 2 really is coming it would probably be out before the stick's release. You can check out the PS3 version of the stick here and the Xbox 360 version here.

» Ummm

Looks like all those $100 used copies of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 will be worthless now? Or not, I don't know why it's so expensive to begin with. Cause it's rare? or cause it's a good game?

» hmm

That's great and all, but is it so much to ask for an actually sequel after almost 10 years?

» I doubt it...

I mean looks at FFVII. The game is uncommon but the original non-greatest hits version is still selling for a high price. Hard copy is still better than digital in this generation. Now FFVII is going digital too.

This was expensive because the the rights to Marvel was bought out by Activision I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong. And Capcom can't make a sequel because of that. Again correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm glad that this game is coming because now I can take the fight online rather than the arcade that cost 50 cents now(was a quarter back then). There's too many good players in the arcade for it to be 50 cents. You loose like $20 if you keep losing.

» Sweet!

Got my copy of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (PS2) still. It's an intense game. Got it for $89.99 at GameStop so yeah, it's rare. Worth a lot too. Specially in good condition (Like mine). The only downside is the sprites are showing their age. If an HD remix came out... That would rock my socks!

» umm

this is just MY opinion but i'd much rather have them release marvel vs capcom (ONE) rather than TWO because of the 234324 characters on a screen at any given time zzzz lol. plus i hated getting stuck in those god damn infinity combos those tournament players use =) you know you are....

» I hope so

I mean I've been playing it for years now because it's one of the few reasons that I haven't put my Sega Dreamcast away. The DC arcade stick gave it arcade perfection!

I said something similar here a few weeks or so ago. The first game is far superior to the sequel. MvsC2 ranks as one of my least favorite fighting games of all time. Sure, lots of characters but they took anything resembling proper gameplay right out of there.

» uhmmm...

» i agree

with what people are saying about how mvc 1 is better than 2, but remember it was following a pattern. xmen vs street fighter=solid, marvel super heroes vs street fighter=broken, marvel vs capcom=solid, marvel vs capcom 2=broken, marvel vs capcom 3=probably would have been a solid game. Damn activision for securing the rights to marvel characters!...and making good games :)

» ehhh

Not sure about this, I'm with most of you who'd rather have MVC3. Not that I even care for the VS. games anymore, since the games tend to have infinities and there's typically only depth in the combos. I'll probably buy it though, but I'll prolly stick to SF4 and other fighters. I don't know about MVC 1 being better than 2 since they're both unbalanced, at least 2 improves on the assist character system, and.... it has CAMMY!
