All eyes are on God of War III. While we're waiting for those new updates from Sony (comes out this Friday!), we also heard a few days back that Kratos is the coverboy for the upcoming issue of Game Informer. Are you willing to wait until next month though? If not, how about a rumor to tide you over?Yeah, better believe it. Someone's claiming they've been able to get a copy of the magazine already and leaked the info of Game Informer's 8-page feature on GoW3! Here's the full runthrough:
- Unlike God of War 1 and #@%!3
4#@%!! where there are only 15 enemies on screen, there will now be around 50 this time. - You can ride monsters like the Cyclops and "control".
- Kratos on the PS2 used 5,000 polygons, now he uses 20,000.
- They made the weapons "better" so it adds more variety. Like with a different weapon, you don't get just a couple different attacks, but a whole different play style.
- The lion gauntlets are called Cestus.
- Enemy AI's are a lot smarter. Some of the enemies will be "commanders" and control the other grunts.
- Enemies will look different, even if they're the same type. Like, even though the skeleton soldiers are in the same category, they will have varied looks, so it's not like everyone looks the same.
- More boss fights than GoW 1, but less than GoW 2.
- No multiplayer.
- Hades boss fight confirmed.

*Update* It is true! Scans have surfaced the Internet of the magazine's copy! So if you really want to know the beef - and not just in outline form above - go grab yourselves a copy of the latest Game Informer issue.

...actually think this game would have multiplayer?
I'm all for multiplayer in shooters and fighters and stuff like that, but for an Action game where most if not all weapons are melee...I think it would get kind of annoying.
i got this issue about two days ago..i havent read all the details of the article..but i know i have the issue already..the skeleton details and things like that are true

You people need to play Heavenly Sword. Heavenly Sword has everything GoW3 is going to have and it came out two years ago. The only problem is it had a short campaign. I hope they make another one.
Heavenly Sword was a victim of all the PS3 hate, but now that EVERYONE realizes the PS3 is the superior console... do yourself a favor and pick this title up. Most of you probably owned a PS1 and a PS2. KNOW YOUR ROOTS, KIDS. Sony has been in the game much longer than Microsoft's xbucks3fixme. You WILL buy a PS3.. it's inevitable.

The same goes for Lair. I admit that the controls sucked when it was released. But over the time they released a patch which fixes the controls, but the bad reviews will not be changed. Now everybody thinks it was a bad game which is simply NOT true.

MY OPINION?
I have a PS3 and I love it! I really do wish I had a 360 because both systems have their advantages like the PS3 has the bluray, free network, cheaper upgrading (HDD and WiFi) and exclusives. As for the 360 has the better Network service (because of LIVE ARCADE and MULTIPLAYER-at a price which pretty much cancels the ps3 and 360's out on that note) its easier to develop games for which is why ex-sony exclusives are now working with 360 and also gets exclusive DLC more than PS3.
I know I left stuff out but in the end its all balanced, everyone should stop battering each other, wait. don't. Why? because its entertaining especially seeing melty drooling over everyone's "orientation" LOL
oh I forgot the NETFLIX ability that the 360 has which is pretty awesome!

Heavenly Sword was decent but it felt sub-GoW. Like it was alright to play while we wait for the return of Kratos.
are there any really new movies on it... cause I heard there is a slew of b list movies on the netflix sub of 360

The game was okay. No where near as good a GoW. You couldn't even equip any other weapons in HS which got way too repetitive. Hopefully they have nudity in this game because all GoW had it. It just would be GoW without the tig ol bitties.

Well the the screen shots don't look any better than the VGA video... I'm a disappointed in Jaffe's description of the game because he got everybody hyped up on how the game was going to look... It's all about expectations at the end of the day and I was literally expecting "a painting coming to life." That looks nothing like a "painting", its definitely doesn't look alive with all those zombies and paper white Kratos!
I'm not getting exited about gow3 until I see some in game footage. the VGA trailer was a huge disappointment.
Why less boss fights? With the new hardware you would expect there to be more.
On a lighter side, it sounds like they are really stepping this one up. A boss fight with Hades sounds real *****ing awesome.
dude the quantity of the boss battles has nothing to do with the hardware, but the quality does, the number of boss battles depends on the game, its story, and not on the hardware.

That this game runs at 60fps. I mean, seeing as it uses the Killzone 2 engine, I'm not sure if this will happen, but here's to wishful thinking.
