Rumor: Home coming in ten days' time? |

Hmm. Here's something interesting. PlayStation Home is currently in closed beta right? The start of the open beta hasn't been given an exact date yet aside from a vague "by Christmas" target, but it looks like we could be seeing it in less than two weeks' time.We spotted this interesting little tidbit in a recent Home feature published on the Times Online UK website (emphasis ours):
To try Home, which is slated for release in the next 10 days, players must download a piece of free software from SonyÂ’s PlayStation store onto their own PS3.
Does the Times Online know something about Home that we don't? Maybe, maybe not. take it with a grain of salt guys. As for us, we'll keep our eyes peeled for any further developments in the coming days.
Thanks to Kyle Thompson (GameBox 47) for the tip!

What I find funny is that they are calling it an open beta, rather than a release....what's the difference really ? Other than the fact that they can blame any problems on the premisise it's still a "beta"....

home is absolutely brilliant, i've made friends at the bowling alley, oh, and i've just aquired a summer house too!! there is so much to do, that i've done the same as the other posters on here, and just ignored alot of my games to play about in home!!
its immense!!

If they get it out by the end of this year, the benefit of it will amount to a collective "About goddamn time mofos!"
If they fail to get it out this year, the only negative will amount to a collective "Ha! Told ya so losers"
It will come when it comes and when it does.. it isnt going to make much of a splash. Sony is going to try and slip it out silently, knowing if they were to market it like the NXE that the PSN would blow up and leave a smoking crater on day one. It will be a long time before that problem ceases to be a concern and so it will be a long time before HOME can live up to its own hype.

My friend gave me the Beta version and most things are locked away. If they want the public to test features in HOME they haven't given much to test. might as well have had no beta and keep the whole thing secret until it was more or less ready.

video games can be used however you want be it entertainment,a n escape, or whatever, BUT people take home to be a place to make friends that they will most likely never meet. what i dislike about home is that people rather do it in a game and have a best friend in a game then go do it for real. you can have buddies but "friends" that you treat like you know personally is dumb. basically ditch home go get real friends go shopping for real go do anything in home for real. once you rather do it in a game then in real life you have a problem
