Gran Turismo 5 - Image 1

If you're a car racing game enthusiast, chances are you've got your eye out for any news about Gran Turismo 5's impending arrival on the circuit. We still haven't heard anything concrete from Polyphony Digital, but the rumor mill has churned out some dates for this racing behemoth.

The latest rumor has the game's release date pegged for Spring 2009. Apparently, the UK's Car Magazine recently ran an article on the Citroen GT concept car, where it was mentioned that the car would be included in Gran Turismo 5 in Spring of next year.

So, what do you guys think? Kazunori Yamauchi has said before that the game would most likely come earlier than the fan-expected 2010 release date, so maybe this has a grain of truth to it. Be that as it may, it's still just a rumor. Keep checking back here for more updates.

» Oxford English Dictionary

prologue (US prolog) n. an introduction to a book, plat, etc (or in our case 'GAME')

Got it now?

» Funnily enough..

I was thinking about GT5 this morning, well we'd better make do with Prologue for now. It's still awesome, I'm pretty sure GT5 is gonna be the best racing sim ever, that's looking pretty certain judging from GT5p. I'm off to play it now, trying to get that bloody Ferrari F1 car lol

» GT 5 Prologue is just a taste of the full game

The full game will have a massive amount of cars and I believe more tracks. Who knows, maybe even more options and features.

» It is a cool game but...

i wonder if they are going to implement a car damage feature into the game. I know in the past there were some very heated talk about it and they said they were working on it. I hope they do. It adds a more realistic feel and challenge to any racer.

» don't quote me on this...

but I think it's coming in with the full version of GT5, or it will be released in a downloadable patch or something. Not really too sure though, anyone know?

» They already said it's gonn abe in GT5, the car damage...

You can easily find the official article where the devs said they were working on it for GT5. They even said that MAYBE they could implement it in pologue. But I'd be supprised. Still, I don't care about car damage, I just want realistic accident (hitting a wall and just be slowed down is not what I call realistic car accident, lol. PS: GT5 will come not sooner than end 2k9, I'm pretty sure.
