Rumor: God of War 1 and 2 PS3 bundle coming, to include God of War III demo |
Ó
The predecessors of God of War III is allegedly coming to Blu-ray in time for you to pick it up while doing your Holiday shopping, and to catch up on what you've missed thus far. Well, at least a Sony Mexico employee is tweeting about it. He says it's coming in a PS3 bundle, all wrapped tight and sweet for you.
The Blu-ray discs in this God of War/ God of War II bundle will also reportedly contain the demo for God of War III -- there's the lure we've been waiting for. But again, we're gonna have to tag this as rumor. Sony has yet to officially comment on this.
Maybe during TGS? They're sure making their rounds and making them worth it at these gaming conventions, huh?

How would this work? Putting God of War I & II on a BluRay Disc makes them playable? Even to the PS3 consoles with no BC?
Collectors edition comes with that God of War 1&2 blu-ray cuz I'm buying it. Then again maybe I won't be able to wait and I'll just get the slim that's bundled with it if this is true, I could use a second PS3 in my living room.
of course not, they would have to rework the code to make it palyable on PS3. The data doesn't change magically just because you change the format they are written on. Maybe they are doing something similar to Nintendo with their "New, Play, Control!" series, a bit reworking the game and then rerelease it on PS3.
awesome if it were true... and if you could buy it without a PS3! i still need to play GOW2...
I owned/loved GOW1, missed GOW2 on the PS2. Sincw I don't have a BC PS3, this would let me play the 1st again and catch up with the second before I go out and buy the third.
I would love to pick up GoW/II on BD assuming it will play in HD resolution. Havent played either and I want GoW III so it would be nice not to miss anything.
Be very smart for them. GoWIII already seems like it could move systems and anyone hesitant about getting into the game because they are unfamiliar might find this the perfect reason to get a PS3. I have no reason to buy a bundle but having the first two on Blu-Ray with a GoWIII collectors edition would be pretty great for me.
God of War I and II and I lost them somehow. Never left the house from what I can tell. Still probably in the house but lost somewhere forever. If this is 40 or less I'll most likely get it so I can have the full series. Hopefully they reworked it and gave us native HD graphics.
dam its going to be the best game ever released.
I'd buy it. Never did get around to playing GoW2
And that's why I can see them doing this. If you all remember, not too long ago there was a poll asking what fans want in the collectors edition of GoW3, and (i believe it was 720p) an HD version of the first two on Blu-ray was an option. So maybe they are still doing that, but before hand they might release a bigger HDD bundle around thanksgiving, that includes the two games and a demo for 349-399. This would definitely sell a ton of units though if it were packed into a 299 model.
Yeah, I am in the same boat. This is the only reason I KINDA wished I had a BC ps3. However, if they port them to PS3 and give me a GoW3 demo, i'll buy it.
I wanna see them all, 1, 2 and 3 on one Blu-Ray.
Sony rumors usually become a reality so this isn't unbelievable. I'll buy this if it does come out but I'll only buy if it's $20 because I can get those games for this much now. Most likely it'll be $30 if it does come out.
Duh I'm not dumb. Of course they would need code changes. Its just the way the article is written (and the previous ones about the rumours on GOWI+II on BluRay) that make it seem thats all there is too it.
Once you get GOW1+2 along with 3, you may not want to sit through the first 2 since the 3rd one is out. The first 2 are very awesome. The story and the whole experience is very epic. I highly recommend playing the first two before the third to get the whole story.
If you have a backwards compatible PS3 you can already play PS2 games upscaled to 1080p, so 720p is a downgrade for some of us. Unless you are talking about reworked textures then it might be worth it.
Sony son of the b i t ch they disable PS2 compatibilty just for this , why we should rebuy this game a game who already riched platinium . but but im waiting the modchip who will bring the dimocracy back .
BC was taken out in an attempt to make the PS3 cheaper because sooooo many people were and still are (even after the announced price cut) moaning that it's too expensive. If you're that hung up on having BC, why not buy a 60GB PS3? There are loads available for about half the RRP in excellent condition. Another thing worth noting is that many people didn't buy the 1st two games and the PS3 may be their very first console. Brand new sealed copies of GOW 1 + 2 can't be found in every computer game shop and if you're lucky enough to find one, you may have to part with a fair chunk of cash for the privilege of knowing some other person hasn't put their grubby hands all over the disc/manual.
It's pretty obvious that recoding it to work on the PS3 and to fit in bluray would be needed. It's called Common Sense. ;)
