PS3 - Image 1 With the PS3's launch date now set for March 23, much speculation now goes in way of not just the console, but the retailers. It's rumored that in light of the console's notoriously high price tag, Sony is making plans with the UK's GAME retail store chain to offer interest-free credit for those wanting to purchase the console.

What that means in a nutshell is that people who can't afford the unit on the spot can opt to make a down payment, and slowly pay the full price over a span of months - much like how we make bank loans.

The tip-off was picked up by a Sony Europe rep promoting the console around UK's retailers. There is yet to be an official word from Sony or the GAME chain, which in turn has kept mum on the rumor. The PS3 is set to sell in Europe for around Ã‚£ 425 (about US$ 835), with this credit system reminding us of a similar setup Sony planned before. Stay tuned for any possible announcements regarding this matter.

» ...no offence

seriously meaning no offence to anyone, but having interest free credit for people who don't have the money there and then? that was really my key plan for getting one at launch! unless they let people who have the money first get one first? its a free for all anyway.. charsz

» sounds good...

cxpt it would be hard as heck to manage. But what's there to ***** about? if all i had to do was pay 10-20 dollars a month for a PS3 I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Bah! GAME bought out the Games Wizards over here, but they didn't change to GAME. If they did, I'd likely do this. Bugger.

Dont forget if you cant keep up with EVERY payment you will pay YES you will pay,and anyway if you could afford these get into dept payments surly you would of been putting the money aside in the first place?,this just makes the console smell even more of OVERPRICED......
