Rumor time folks. Massively reports that hints are pointing towards a possible September beta for Square Enix's upcoming MMO Final Fantasy XIV (PlayStation 3, PC).

The biggest piece of evidence that fuels this rumor is a Square Enix job posting for game masters armed with a "good knowledge" of Final Fantasy XI (Xbox 360, PC). Speculation has it that the new hires will replace the more seasoned FFXI game masters who are in turn being moved over to handle FFXIV.

The aforementioned jobs start in mid-September, hence the September beta rumor. Other hints include FFXIV reportedly being in development for five years now and the devs' wish to have a longer beta cycle than FFXI's four months or so.

This is all speculation, however, so don't start freeing up all your time for September just yet. September seems really early though. We'll keep you posted with any beta updates as we get them.
