Rock Band sees boosts in XBL and PSN track sales |
Ó

It's another success for the music game genre as Harmonix sells more than 2.5 million downloadable songs from Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) through Xbox Live (XBL) and the PlayStation Network (PSN). This success reminds us of the time when digital music sales were boosted thanks to Guitar Hero III.
According to Harmonix and MTV Games, the best selling tracks from Rock Band are from the Metallica Pack, which features the original versions of "Ride the Lightning", "Blackened," and "And Justice for All."
Other hit downloads include tracks from The Police, Queens of the Stone Age, David Bowie, and Black Sabbath. Paul DeGooyer, MTV Senior VP of home entertainment, music and games, says we'll be able to see album releases "very shortly."
If you're a fan of Rock Band, you probably have until the end of the month to take advantage of their US$ 0.99 offer for some of the offered tracks. The price will be switching back to the normal price by the end of January.

Whoever wrote this article misunderstood the price increase announcement. There was a deal for the songs:
"Attack" - 30 Seconds To Mars (from 2005's A Beautiful Lie)
"The Kill" - 30 Seconds To Mars (from 2005's A Beautiful Lie)
"Dirty Little Secret" - All-American Rejects (from 2005's Move Along)
"Move Along" - All-American Rejects (from 2005's Move Along)
"Song With A Mission" - The Sounds (from 2006's Dying To Say This To
You)
for $0.99 instead of the normal $1.99. The announcement was just that those are switching to the normal price.
LOL, you totally owned Isaac C. QJ has really dropped in quality.
More news +/+ better
QJ...you suck guys. They aren't raising the price of songs, they simply had lowered them for a deal and then they're returning to normal.
Biased reporting at it's best.
I was confused for a minute, thanks for clearing this up, I was about to get pissed off for paying $2 for a bunch of songs that everyone else got for $1.
