One of the most anticipated games for the Sony PS3, Sony PS2, and Microsoft Xbox 360 is MTV Games and Harmonix' Rock Band, and since we know you're all waiting for its release, we've got good news for you. Harmonix has announced that the game has gone gold and is currently in final production. From the looks of it, Rock Band for the Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3 will meet its announced November 20 release date, while the PS2 version is still slated for a December 18 release.

Details of the Special Edition Bundles for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Sony PS2 have also been released. All Special Edition Bundles of Rock Band will feature a wired drum kit, microphone, a Fender Stratocaster guitar controller, and a USB hub, with the PS3 and PS2's guitar controller interoperable.

Europe will be getting MTV Games and Harmonix' Rock Band in the first quarter of 2008 for all platforms, so our European friends still need to wait a bit longer for the game to reach their shores.

» question

I haven't really managed to find good info anywhere...is there a difference between the PS3 and X360 versions or are they totally identical? (Deciding which one to purchase)

Let's not turn this into a flame war, just some facts please.

I believe the PS3 guitar is wireless, and the Xbox 360 is wired. If you're any good, though, get the Xbox 360 version so I'll have one person to play co-op with.
