But really, we find it rather sad that people have been getting hurt in the process of just acquiring a new gaming console. Whatever happened to the days when all this used to be fun, and not dangerous? There have already been reports of a riot at Wal-Mart, a commotion at the Japanese launch in Tokyo, some guys who got mugged while waiting in line, and a drive-by shooting incident which, fortunately, involved a BB gun and not real bullets.
And now, we have this. According to a news report from ABC's News10, two gunmen took four Xbox 360s and four PS3s from the GameStop branch at Elk Grove. The suspects demanded the consoles from the store employees at gunpoint before taking off and escaping. Other stores in the area which are also scheduled to sell the console have been warned about the incident and have been told to watch out for anything suspicious.
So, out of the two hundred people lining up outside of your doorstep, how do you find the "suspicious" one?
Again, whatever happened to the time when games were fun and not life-threatening?

Because I know they can't control the price of materials, but you notice how the expensive stuff is getting stolen (360 & PS3) While There have been no reports (Thus far, that I know of) of Wiis being stolen from stores like this... Mind you Wiis have been delivered to alot of Gamestops and such.
this is like being jacked for your Jordans or NorthFace.. or even back in the day when people use to steal EB Coats (no not EB Games)....

they probably could have sold wii's for a lot more than 360's. maybe they just stole them to play online with their friends
For your information, alot of stores dont have the Wii shipments yet. Even if they did, they are unopened.

i heard a few things happening in my state sombody got one stolen when thay were getting in thare car after getting one at an EB in the mall, also somone got shot outside a walmart. i wanted one so bad and didin't get one, maybe if sony made consoles and not try to make a shortage people like me could have got one and we wouldin't have all this happening
Did you know that the PS3 is going for several thousand dollars on eBay? The last price I saw was around $3500 USD...why...that's enough for many PS3s! I would DEFINATELY sell a PS3 on eBay and totally wait out till the next shipment. I mean...come on. Take the system now...or wait and score an extra $3000 USD or so....hmmm...that's a though one.
