Rez HD: 360 controllers as Trance Vibrator, PSN version possible |

The original Rez HD game on the Dreamcast made use of the Trance Vibrator: a peripheral that pulsed in time with the music of the game. In place of a Trance Vibrator, the Xbox Live Arcade version will be making use of what's available - the 360 controllers.
How would that work? The game will have support for up to 4 controllers: one placed behind your back, one on the floor under your feet, the third one's the one you use to play the game and the fourth one's position is up to you.
Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the producer of the game, remarks that the Trance Vibrator is an important part of the game:
The mix of sound, music and vibration is like a chemistry. [...] So one day, one of the game designers came up with the idea of the multiple controller vibration since most people have more than one 360 controller. We all thought it was a really fantastic idea.
The controllers don't vibrate in tandem, but rather in a unique rhythm. Mizuguchi also added that since PS3 controllers would be featuring rumble again in the future, there's a chance that Rez HD might appear on the platform as well. As it turns out, it's something that they'd like to work on, and that it's a possibility that they've already considered.

I seem to remember there being a little bit of controversy about the potential misuse of the original trance vibrator....
that said it's no worse than someone "incorrectly handling" their controller during online halo 3 matches and screaming "shoot me!"...
I'll look forward to confirmation of a PSN version (since I'll be able to take advantage of the HDMI capacity)

Wonder if it still kicks around the intranet?

The 4 controllers idea is funny but not interested.
