More promising news in the land of PS3 homebrew. A hacker known as StreetSkaterFU has managed to partially dump the RAM on a retail PS3 machine, something that could eventually lead to encryption key breaking and the like.
So far, there have been no news of any further progress, but this is a promising step towards opening the PS3 more fully to homebrew. Analysis is still being conducted on the dumps, but we'll be sure to report on any further developments.
You can check out a few screenshots of the dumps at the source link. For more on information on other PS3 hacks and exploits, check out the hacks and exploits below.

Well neway kongo664, ya this is great news! Ya the encryption on the disk can be broken(already has), and if they manage to break it better, it could lead to ISO loaders(which i like, yep i like piracy), and maybe even more! I hope this enhances! And ya i agree with u about homebrew, im tired of java homebrew:P

Bottom line is if you like the game so much go and buy it. If your a real gamer like most of us. You would buy it and add the game to your collection. Having a hard copy is always better. One of the reasons I've never purchased some games on PSN. Take GT prologue for example me and all my friends got the hard copy. And don't say your going to lose it!!, Then WHAT!! If you thought of that then ask yourself have you lost anything important to you in your life? If so then your one retarded lowlife who's unable to protect whats important to you!

With the release of the 160 gig PS3s coming up you'll be able to something like 10 games easily.
And the glory of piracy is no DRM! If you run low on space just delete a game you play the least, you can always get it again later.
The problem is that just like PS2 and HDLoader, chances are you won't be able to play online.

(of course people are gonna end up saving the money instead of buying their favorite games for a bigger hard drive but at least I tried)

hard to admit but software piracy makes hardware industry grow larger than you can imagine. its always a double sided karma.
look at the pc gaming industry, why is it still growing every year when everything and i mean all software's can be pirated on PC?
people will always look for alternative means of enjoyment, if they cannot have it on ps3, then people will turn to Wii and 360.
and if the ps3 is hacked (can play backupd games or game images) i betcha, with the powerful name of the playstation brand, it will crush the hardware sales of the 360 and wii combined. software sales will less than normal but the hardwares sales will be phenomenal. just like what it did for the ps1 and ps2.

I have said this before. Even if you hate SONY, you can't possibly hate the developers.
They sacrifice time and effort to give you the game. The least you can do is give a little bit of respect and buy the game. Buying games supports the development of more games.

AND DON'T SAY PIRATING DOESN'T AFFECT ANYTHING AT ALL... YA SAY ONLY THIS SMALL PERCENT OF PEOPLE PIRATE? IT AIN'T ONLY ONE PERSON DOING IT NOR ONE COUNTRY DOING IT EITHER SO DO THE MATH ($60/per person and give an estimate of how many pirate a game = loss of sale), sorry for the caps, I know there is two or more idiots coming out with a reply like this sooner or later so might as well say that now. And yes, we have all done it.

If quality is a factor of that "want" then so be it. I'm sure plenty of factor attribute to "want".
However, it's pretty common that low quality equals "not want".
So yeah, it's safe to assume that Wii games contain plenty of quality. Has a Wii game ever crashed on you? Has a 360 game? PS3 game? Seems to me the Wii has much higher quality then other consoles.
If you are referring to graphic quality. That has too many variables. Are you speaking resolution? The wii can't handle high resolution. Those that buy it know that so obviously high resolutions are not a requirement for having FUN!

suppose you make a kick ass game for the psp. you spent millions on it and years of work. it gets great reviews and all of the gamers love it. BUT, sales are terrible. how can so many people love my game if nobody bought it? pirates kill the industry. i dont mind so much for the psp since its been out for years and the library is pretty solid as it is. but the ps3 has a long way to go. i dont want to have to see good updates being pushed back because sony needs to patch the homebrew to fight piracy. i dont want my next kick ass title to be replaced with another generic casual game since "hardcore gamers" dont buy games.
grow up and realize what you are doing to your hobby.

That and I see your perspective, but some of us DO work hard and still don't make it.

See: Gas Prices.

Not really an arguing point, but anything having to do with money has to do with gas prices. +P
