Resistance: Fall of Man update: of worldwide servers and lip sync |
Ó
Some of you Chimera-busting guys playing Insomniac Games' Resistance: Fall of Man have already downloaded the latest update required to avail of the map packs. Playing for hours, however, doesn't guarantee that you can figure out everything that's changed in the game. Fortunately, we've found a changelog which should cover everything new and whatnot. The most significant addition would have to be the World Servers. That's right, you no longer have to limit your skirmishes with people just around your region - just set 'Worldwide Player' setting on the multiplayer options to 'Worldwide' and you're set.
Annoying players who leave ranked games when things aren't going good for them will now be restricted from spoiling games so often. A time penalty will incur on leavers who fail to finish ranked games, accumulating up to 15 minutes of being unable to join ranked games depending on how often they commit the crime.
Here's another sweet cosmetic feature: voice chat will now allow human models to lip sync with the players talking. Having a USB keyboard plugged also gives human players a variety of facial expressions mapped to numeric keys 0-9.
Since the changelog can turn to an overwhelming wall of text, we decided not to include everything on this article. You can find it in its entirety on the Read link below.

lucky but i would have just got a psp or wait 4 a redesined psp....anyway i think i will get RFOM now since lip syncing is always funny (imagine a kung fu movie, but you doing the voice over...anyway good luck with your i phone...i will be useing my tmobile wifi service to talk to do all the things your doing...but cheaper lol
"just set 'Worldwide Player' setting on the multiplayer options to 'Worldwide' and you're set."
Do you have to do this in every online game? So games like Rainbow six for example, is there world wide servers or is it only in resistance. If its not limited to resistance, do you have to change the multiplayer settings every time you play online?
NO !!!!! stupid above
You should know that it is a game setting. It's not a big deal to choose the Worldwide Player setting.
He was just asking a question.
Sometimes people ask those questions to start a dissing contest between the 360 and PS3 owners.
i dont understand? :-S how do you lip sync?
It automatically does it if you're using a headset to talk during gameplay. So every time you speak you characters lips move.
lip sync iz kool in all but who has the time 2 actually watch the players mouth lol and world servers are only good for u.k and thats it cause they know english like us
haters is starting jump on acting all jealous aka mr.ps3

I don't have a PS3 at the moment but I'm getting mine in a month if not at christmas. I have no need for starting a flame war between PS3 and Xbox360 users. I'm planning to buy both consoles.
Your forgetting Australia, and 75 other countries. For example, I've played people on Live and PSN who are from places like Japan, Mexico, and middle east who speak perfect English. I'm pretty sure those people probably appreciate world wider servers the most.
Umm its unlike a kung fu movie, Cause (i tried it out) n it went perfectly with how you talk. In kung fu movies it keeps going for a few seconds.
It was a resistance update not a PS3 update. So its an option in Resistance only, but you can still invite worldwide people to your PSN buddylist.
just like in every game an option like that is good just to have there. I'll try and teach english to someone in japan lol.
So is Resistance the only game that has world wide servers? If yes then whats the point of having friends from other countries if you can't play them? Thanks for answering, I'm just confused and need clarification.
WTF i just got my resistance and i really like to now that the game is better than call of duty on online mode !!tanks QJ
lip synchin is cool! cmon guys lets all befriend me on psn and watch eachother talk! seriously i wanna play more resistance i beat the game on superhuman and now need resistance friends!
its CS, your characters lips move when you talk, its kinda funny
