Fixing some Jumping Flash glitches

Remember a while back when we featured a video showing a glitch in Resistance: Fall of Man, which caused the player to jump up and down like a raving Jumping Flash lunatic? CHUCKINGROCKSATSPACESHIPS even playfully commented that the game should now be called "Resist the Fall of Man." (tee-hee, nice one!)

Maybe not for too long though. Insomniac Games is planning to flesh out their alien-shooter with a fixer. We're not sure if this concerns the perpetual anti-Grav glitch, but they're supposedly releasing a patch for the game soon. Lead Multiplayer Programmer Eric Ellis writes in his blog (which is currently down) that: "I can't yet talk about all the things we've changed, but I really think that people will be very pleased to see how responsive this is to some concerns that have come out since we went live."

Upon further writing, he later hints that the patch will focus on some issues with strategic tactics in the game:

We've addressed a few key balance issues and put a big focus on making it possible to more effectively use a variety of strategic and team-based tactics in the game. I'm very excited to see how people like the change when it releases. That should happen very soon, so stay tuned.

This might be their focus with the patch, but that doesn't mean that this will be the only thing that'd be addressed. Personally though, I wish they'd keep the jumping glitch in the system. I kinda like getting those kinds of glitches. badam seems to agree, even.

Hope they don't change much

I like the multi-player the way it is (not talking about the anti-grav glitch). I hope they don't change around much with this update.

lol yes!

That would surely allow to "more effectively use a variety of strategic and team-based tactics". :]

not you again...

Actually this game does own a whole lot. It has both an amazing single player that is challenging to anyone (even in co-op). Has a great story and provides lots of fun. The online play is also amazing with the way the ranking system works (doesn't allow anyone to cheat their way up in rankings). Has party features, and regular non-ranked matches. Also it's very easy to get into a 35+ man game (even more in the afternoon and night). Also you can't really talk smack on a game you haven't even touched (please don't say you played it over your friends house and hated it... cause that's a lie). Both GoW and RFoM both do a great job of delivering the kind of gameplay they wantted to (which are totally different). Really though non fanboy your name makes about as much sense as the bs you post.

yea

I've seen the crap he's spewed other places, but I guess I just can't let him flame without calling him a moron. Wish QJ could just ban kids like him.

Add features for multiplayer PLEASE!!!

I personally love this game, have played it for hours upon hours, mainly Cooperative though but i love it, one thing i'd love to see Insomniac do with this game is to release a patch that would allow you to play up to 4 players on one system online against other players at the same time. Would also like to see a feature be added to where you could hook 2 PS3's together through LAN and play 8 players off 2 systems. :)

Lan would be nice

Lan support would be great for this game, but what if they could link up 10 PS3s at once for 40 man lan. Talk about insanely awesome.
