Resistance: Fall of Man - Insomniac team talks about new maps

After reports saying Resistance: Fall of Man will get new maps on PSN, the release is finally right around the corner. The folks from Insomniac Games are excited about it and shared a few details on a video interview from GameSpy.

Camborne and Westmorland will be where new battles will happen and they're both actual places from England. Apparently, they're a lot different from each other and different from currently existing maps. As far as storyline goes, these places are taken over by the chimera and players will experience how humans are trying to engage the foothold.

Camborne is for players who like it up close. The extensive tunnel network would provide some serious close combat fragging, with weapons such as the flamethrower finally put into good use. Westmorland is more for the stealthy person who enjoys sniping from long range. With good hiding spots and wide open areas, anyone would think twice before running around without getting shot.

Hours upon hours of interacting with players and taking feedback from them produced these maps. That said, many fans would probably enjoy seeing their ideas employed for better gameplay. Slated for release before the end of the month, the map pack will be priced at US$ 7.99. As the guys from Insomniac say, it's a small price for getting two maps when you're already getting the online service free.

It seems they changed a lot about the game. Well, they aren't huge changes, but they are noticable. The flamethrower now shoots yellow/orange fire, which is the way it should be. Then, it seems like they added a lot of blue to the game, which does give it a new look. Cross hair turns blue, Ion burst, rocket, and the one alien gun that shoots out shields. Pretty interesting, maybe I can actually get into the game now. I've had it since it came out, and barely even played it for an hour...

the maps looks nice and that man is right about charging for this pack because we already get enough things for free....but im not really sure if i would cash 8 bucks for it because in like 2 weeks after it comes out....R6:V is out

I live in St. Agnes, about the same distance away from it as you.

For the person who said 'who cares' , it might not be a big deal for someone who lives sumwhere like Bristol or Manchester, but it's the fact it's in Camborne, never mind Cornwall.

The Chimera probably wouldn't even want to go there to die, though wouldn't surprise me if Insomniac will probably tell us that is where the mutation started. It's rough, oh so rough.

Looks like an ace level all the same though.
