The Resident Evil series has been known for unlockable alternate costumes for its playable characters. The latest in the franchise is no exception. Resident Evil 5 will be getting unlockable attires for its characters.
So the PS3/Xbox 360 game is out in Japan already, with North America and Europe getting it this Friday (the 13th). Here we have screenshots from a Japanese gamer who has unlocked Sheva's alt-costume. If I got my facts right, alt costumes are available after beating the game once, while another set is available via Mercenaries Mode.
With that said, here are screencaps from BioHazard 5, showing Sheva's unlockable attire. Whoever took these screenshots sure had some creative angles, making sure that we got all our bases covered (figuratively).
If you notice the screenshot at the very top, we also see a glimpse of Chris Redfield's alternate costume - his S.T.A.R.S. attire, which is different from his BSAA get-up.

Honestly though, it is pretty sad that the first black RE character's unlockable costume is a revealing tribal 'outfit'.
That's just tasteless.
Its common knowledge that people are generally more attracted to people of their own race, regardless of what their race is, or sexual orientation.
As for the tribal thing, what would you have them do? Dress her up in a 1650's school marm outfit? You call it tasteless, I call it fitting.

when she donned her tribal costume (i can't remember from which story arc), did the whole marvel community explode with all these racial outcries? no. i don't think so. if ever there was, i suppose it wasn't as huge as the one we're seeing for RE5.
everytime i see sheva, i liken her to storm. they kinda fit the same persona - that accounts for physical, mental, emotional, etc. both of them are headstrong independent women. they both originate from africa. they both have some sort of smooth european accent. both of them can seriously kick enemy butt (one of them with guns, one of them with lightning bolts!). and they can make the tribal outfit work.
i don't find anything politically incorrect with storm in her tribal outfit. and neither do i find anything politically incorrect with sheva in hers.
People have their own preferences. He didn't say he had anything against anyone. Just that he didn't find most of them attractive.
As for the tribal outfit, I think it's fitting considering the game does take place in Africa.
RE has had themed costumes before like Cowboy and Gangster outfits.

Hey I'm a Black/Creole (Mixed) 22 year old female in Los Angeles CA and I've been playing the RE5 game with my B/F for a couple of days now.LOL but unfortunately he booted me off and is partnered up with my brother because I kept dying as the second player..Sheva.Now as for her tribal costume I find it very sexy hot and revealing I'd wear it! I weigh 140 lbs and I'm 5'8 I have green eyes I think I'd try out as Sheva if they were casting for her in the Resident Evil 4/5 Movie :)....So bottom line I don't think their isn't any racism involved when it comes to Sheva's character because I find her very adorable
