MTV Games and Harmonix are cranking up the pressure on  this holiday season's battle of the bands as they release some hot new downloadable content (DLC) for Rock Band (Sony Radiohead - Image 1PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360) over at the Xbox Live MarketPlace and the PlayStation Network. You can bet that all the artists included are class acts, so hold on to your seats and get ready to be rocked.

Three bands will be in this batch of tunes from the respective services. Radiohead will be pitching in My Iron Lung, Weezer will dish out Buddy Dolly, and The Pretenders will kick up Brass in Pocket.

All of these tracks will be available individually over at Xbox Live for 160 Microsoft Points as we speak, and they'll invade the PSN this Thursday for US$ 2.00 apiece. Rock Band should get a heck of a lot meaner with these additions.

I'd have regrets

buying GH3 if I had room in my apt for RockBand, damnit. RockBand has the better titles for sure.

...and on pricing

I wanna know how RB pricing is less than GH3 when they have to do 4 times the work as there are 4 instruments instead of merely one. Seems it's entirely RB FTW!!!

merely one?

If you say RB has 4 instruments, (which it does), how is it that you claim GH has "merely one"? Both games have Lead guitar and Rhythm Guitar/Bass

... and 4 difficulties each, huh so that's 2 times 4. Wow, 8. Now lets do that for RB. Hmm 4 instruments by 4 difficulty settings equals 16. Okay then... twice the work at less of a price is still part of my point. ... don't care. Either way you cut it IMO GH3 was pretty disappointing. Playlist, loose necked guitar, no online co-op career and only the player who creates the band gets the achievements when you finally do find someone to come over and play. Game needs some patches... and some big names... I'm sure they can afford the rights at this point in the cycle.
