Quartermann: Major Japanese publisher inks PSN deal |

If you didn't catch the latest issue of EGM, there was a small news tidbit which might thaw Sony PlayStation 3 fans from the holiday freeze. The popular Quartermann is back and he brings something big to look forward to.According to Quartermann, Sony has sealed a deal to have one of Japan's major game publishers remake classic titles for the PlayStation Network. The identity of the developer wasn't revealed, leaving much for speculation.
A lot of us who love the PS3 are probably hoping that this is Square Enix, Konami, or perhaps even Capcom. Whoever it is, we're looking forward to their next-gen take on past greats. We'll update you as soon as new details are in.

sweet final fantasy 1-9, or mgs vrm or mgs1, or any of the capcom fighting games like marvel vs. capcom or street fighters sweet hope its square enix tho
I hope they release some original Enix games too. It would be cool to see Actraiser in 1080p! Please say it is so!
When I saw PS3 remake, I instantly thought back to the Final Fantasy VII tech demo, but sadly something like that would be released in stores and not as a download on the PSN. I'm guessing if it is Square Enix, then it's going to be Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and/or IX in the ps1 classics section of the store, because every other comment in the official playstation blog is a plea for one of those three games in the store. Everyone is always saying, "Why don't you want my money, Sony? I want to buy Final Fantasy VII! Put it up there!"
I want to play the original Mgs on my ps3 and psp
I want a remake of either that or Secret of Mana. But eh, wishful thinking. I bet it'll be some crappy EA sports games or arcade titles like PacMan or Tetris.
The EA part wouldn't work, but the classic arcade games would. I'm looking at you, Bubble Bobble or Bomberman. :P
