Still poring over that Rorscach inkblot from yesterday? Well you can stop now. Visceral and EA have finally announced Dead Space 2. Officially.
Isaac Clarke's will return as the main character, but he's no longer caught unawares as he was in the original. This time, he's taking the fight to the necromorphs himself. As the press release states it, "survival isn’t the only thing on Isaac's mind in Dead Space 2 – this time, he calls the shots." Oooh.
"The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it," explains executive producer Steve Papoutsis. "There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you."
Expect lots of new stuff in the sequel: new weapons, new characters, new zero-G environments. Still nothing official on that multiplayer rumor, although now that the curtains have been pulled back we may hear more from the devs soon. Dead Space 2 is coming out for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
