Amazon.com - Image 1Expanding their services to more fronts is Sony, teaming up with Amazon to reach out to more consumers for the PlayStation Network. This tie-up puts over 200 downloadables up for sale with the online retailer giving consumers an extra alternative to reach PSN goodies.

So far, the service is only available to the US. Downloadables range from PSN exclusives like Fat Princess, and even classics like Twisted Metal.

"We are excited to expand our current library of videogame platform downloads," said Paul Ryder, vice president of consumer electronics for Amazon.com. "PlayStation Network games are an important addition and we plan to continue making it easier for customers to instantly enjoy new content as well as their favourite games from the comfort of their living rooms."

Sony would be the last of the big three to make this move, seeing as WiiWare and Xbox Live titles have been available at the online retailer for some time now.

..

I'm kind of confused here. If you can log on to the PSN store, XBL Marketplace, or Wiiware contents, why would you need the use of Amazon? Wouldn't it be pointless? Unless it's cheaper to get it through amazon.

blkthunda i'm with you there

This makes no sense, unless there are some good deals, but how would the deals be any better when Amazon is trying to make a profit too?

sony will lose some gain more

sony will have to pay amazon but of course this will make psn purchases known to more people. basically this is just advertising.
