Our mummy's PS2s this certainly isn't. The XMB has replaced the PS2's menu and string of dancing lights. The disc they load is MotorStorm - can't tell from here if it's a demo, a pre-production build, or maybe it's the game itself and PSM3 just got blessed - again!
Hey, hey! Why are you cutting out after game load, PSM3 guys? C'mon! Show us the game in action! Aw, hell, now we can't hardly wait for our PS3s either.

Does the ps3 heat up a lot like the HexBox 360? How come I never see anyone place ps3 in vertical position? What launch games are actually 1080p and which ones are 720p native? I hope most are actually 720p so i can get the full experiance on my 720p tv w/o feeling newbish.
When do other colors come out for ps3 and i hope they dont do a pepto bismol color one. How about clear blue? Yay!

Love the music on the XMB. This is a test kit however and hasnt been finalized. I wonder if they are starting to give them to magazines in order to get in early reviews of the game.

P.S X-Box is a decent system, but PS3 has to compete with the newest gaming wares. and when it's loaded they select it and it's a LOOOOOONG black screen :| man, they should at least put a screen telling us it's loading :S hoping the final version will get one OR hoping the game will load faster! even if it's not long compared to my PS2 lol ( always show the browser before loading the disc. :(, too old I suppose, it's a 1st gen ps2 )
ps: man Mr Doodster is SOOOO stupid! I mean, like a modchip would be invented BEFORE the console launch 1st, and anyway, it's not like we can really burn BDs.., plus; we cannot also store the games on the HDD ( a game of 22gig ? how the hell you can HD advance this ). I really like how the ps3's xmb is, real clean and simple. I think that most homebrew for the ps3 would be quite useless cause most people have a computer and you could those kinds of things best on a computer. It be funny if the first ps3 exploit would be a tiff one like the psp. Somebody should try it out just in case, but im pretty sure sony patched it XD even before release. What firmware will the ps3 be when its released? 1.00?

In any case, I do wonder what mags in Pal territories will be like, considering the long wait for the PS3 there. It's going to be kind of wierd previewing, reviewing, and passing up games that haven't been able to be played in buyers homes yet.

I like dpad for driving games so thats ok its primary thumb, but it feels wierd for games like san andreas, or tiger woods, for primary control thumb should be in rest position, fact is almost all the games these days use analog for primary control, no matter how much i like dpad. It will be awesome for motorstorm and gthd tho assuming you can stter with dpad. Sony Dpad FTW
People will get blu ray burners and already have dvdr so why is it so hard to imagine a consumer would want to burn digital content to these formats for playback in XMB. Its not straight up linux anyways, I am sure you can't just "add a codec". Thats why they leave out features and promiise FW updates in the future and can sneak in security patchs.

Im sure PS3 will be a nice machine.. but man couldn't Sony get creative enough to make it look less like a giant PSP...
The PS3 is going to be totally ausome, its was so kewl the way it sucked in that disk relly quick lol. Also you can customize the way it loads up and stuff and all your bacground so you dont have to have a gay purple colour. So it relly is just like a pc, just like sony said. E.g you can customize your background, it has icons for you to click on, it plays movies, music, pictures straight from hdd, can transfer files easy to hdd, you can open about 10 brwer pages simentaniously. See it is basically a super computer. Its like computer gaming but no need to upgrade the insides all the time :) as the games are customly made for you.
Hey me again lol, anyway sony have only made it look like the psp browser because it is simple and easy to navigate. Think about it, all your videos, music, games, internet, friends lists and system details and easily listed and then easily listed as subfolder inside. The only reason it doesnt look original is because its has been out on the psp for about a year and a half now. But once you get a ps3 you will be non-the wiser. Also because it has the same browser as the psp it will be easier for people who have been on a psp to use it as they already know where everything will be. sony are jsut making it easier for us. BTW it was nly 7 seconds to load the disk after the nice people at PSM pushed the game disk button on the ps3's interface, thats 8 seconds quicker than the PS2, and 2 secnonds faster than the xbox360 and this is onyl a prototype.
