It was a big week for the PlayStation 3. A whole bunch of new details for God of War 3 came out, including info on familiar mini games *cough*, and the Warhawk Command Center finally launched on PlayStation Home. LittleBigPlanet is also getting a bunch of new stuff, including a Patapon costume!

Here's the biggest PlayStation 3 news this week!

Game News
  • Warhawk Command Center launches in PlayStation Home. Link.
  • Home users in Japan is getting an awesome new Japanese-style lounge called Irem Plaza. Link.
  • LittleBigPlanet update gives us new search options. Link.
  • We're also getting slightly creepy but still cute customizable sackboy toy figures. Link.
  • And for Patapon fans, a Patapon sackboy! Link.
  • Surprise! Or not really? Killzone 2 street date was broken. Link.
  • But sorry fellas, no more weak-ass bots in Killzone 2. Link.
  • Final Fantasy XIII is still on track for its still unspecified release date this 2009. Link.
  • The PS3 is being deprived of Lost Planet 2, and the DLC for Fallout 3. LP2 Link, Fallout Link.
  • New God of War 3 details, complete with throbbing muscles. Link.
  • Heavy Rain will be heavily satisfying, even without DLC. Link.
Industry News
  • Everyone wants a price cut except Sony. Link.
  • SCEE Boss David Reeves isn't sure the PlayStation 3 will live through its supposed 10 year lifespan. Link.
  • Word spread like wildfire that someone decrypted a retail PlayStation 3 HDD. Turns out it was an epic fake, but the homebrew community still learned something out of the experience. Link.
So Reeves isn't sure about the PlayStation 3's 10-year lifespan huh? I imagine sales will really pick up if people actually managed to crack the PS3's secrets - for realz - and opened it up for homebrew. Here's hoping it'll be sometime soon.

» Homebrew would be sweet but...

backups would be stupid. Not one of my blu-ray movies or games have a single scratch on them. Also, by the time backups would be made to work as well as they do on the psp, where it is much more understandable for them to exist, there will be a lot more disc based games that are also downloadable. As long as it doesn't open the floodgates of piracy I'm all for it.
