PS3 USB custom firmware loader v0.3 released

A new version of JaicraB's PS3 USB Custom Firmware loader is now available for download. Version 0.3 of the USB Firm Loader fixes some issues from the previous release.

Developer's note:

This program allows to simulate the dev_flash from USB. Allowing a Custom Firmware. We may modify the files of our new dev_flash (USB) as we please, without running the risk of throwing away the PS3.

It is a beta version, probably find bugs. I will continue working on it when time permits me. Remember that suffers no risk to the console. All that is changed the new dev_flash'll be doing really USB.

Changelog (translated):

Code optimization.
Fixed USB port allocation.
Fixed black screen.

Recommendations:

Only have a USB MASS STORAGE USB connected to load FIRM LOADER.
UPDATE NO FIRM while in USB mode LOADER.

and furthermore SONY has looked into all those who have used the ps3 jailbreak method to hack their ps3 and they will be locking those ps3's permantly so i guess you wasted your time and money just to have an exspensive toy that will never work again so HA HA HA HA HA HA should have left well enough alone dumba**es because there is no one to blame but yourselfs

Why are you defending Sony so much when they've ripped off the client so much?

They've took away OtherOS, in the next probably all 3rd party accessories will be blocked, proxy server will also be blocked.

I don't like to insult people, but how ignorant are you?! They're ALWAYS removing features from what you bought!

Updating my PS3 is not an option any more, 3.42 fw is absolutely fine.

Sony's going to enjoy controlling eliminating features as the users update their systems.

I can't even call "gamers" because those know what it's good.

So you defend hackers for making cheat devices and using aimbots while online then your just as stupid as the rest of them the reason SONY removed those options is because a**holes like yourself think its alright to screw with things that should not be messed with GEOHOT is the reason the "other os" option was removed so blame him not SONY and the ps2 emu was removed because it did not work as good as it was thought to and as for thid party accessories being blocked then thank the people who come up with the ps3 jailbreak because thats their fault my point is dont mess with somthing unless your willing to lose all the good things that was there before. so say thanks to GEOHOT and ps3 jailbreak for getting all these things removed and stop blaming SONY for it dumba**

I think one day you got owned hardcore by a hacker online and cried and whined for 3 days, then vowed to fight against cheating all your life.
Besides, the PS2 ability was fine before they used the emulator chips. Their fault. They just obviously wanted to keep the sales of PS2s.

You obviously don't actually know what is legal and what isn't, these copyright laws in the way you're using them say that you are not allowed to use Sony's code in a way they don't want to be used, however as Dark Alex proved on the PSP, there is a way of having custom firmware without illegally modifying sony's code, and therefore allowing emulators and the such. It is not illegal to modify a console after purchase, as you have purchased it, so long as you don't use illegal code on it. Big grey area..

and that is exactly what is being done because the hack lets you use unsigned codes and that in its self is illegal by SONY's standerds so stop thinking you know what your talking about and admit that hacking the ps3 is WRONG and dont say you dont use it to cheat online because this will only bring upon DEV's finding ways to create a cheat device like they did on the psp such as nitePR cwcheats and so on and if you do hack your ps3 then you have no right to play online for any reason like SONY says OBEY the rules or get your ps3 brickedits as simple as that

We all know you love Sony's C*ck..alright.. but some of use would wish to play with Snes emulators and others emulators too , and load UNDUB releases of Ps3 and Ps2 games as well.
I don't mind buying more Ps3 games , I have a lot of them..and I am not bitching about Ps3 being hacked.. because then I keep my lens living for longer when I run my own games from the HDD..

It's kinda amazing how when something likes this comes out ppl (cough HACKH8ER)automa tically think everyone under the sun is gonna use it to cheat during online gameplay or completely ripoff the industry, when in all reality most ppl just wanna play a game that hasent been around for 15-20 years on an emulator for a system that has been outta production for just as long. And i dont know bout the rest of you but my doctors office might get pissed if i start hooking my nes or snes up to their tv without askin, not to mention lugging all that stuff to where ever else you might feel the urge to play something like that. As far as playing backed up copies of games go i would rather have to carry 2 memory sticks full of the games i have at home rather the pack up the psp games themselves.

Since hackh8ter has a problem with playing backups too he might wanna take his fight to Apples front door too cuz ITunes has made a sh**-ton of money off of that idea, not to mention every company that makes a cd and dvd burner, cuz nowadays it all the same format just for different industries. If you're gonna be a h8er do it across the board or not at all
