Sony rep Jake Osuwah Tweeted some news out earlier, pointing us to an exclusive PS3 VidZone video footage. According to his post, the PS3's gonna be updated with the feature soon, and it won't be long before we get the music video service on the console.

As posted on Twitter:

We'll be updating our PS3's soon to this!

The link would take you to an article on CVG, which has the footage that Osuwah promised. Here it is:

According to the early review version that CVG has, the feature would also allow you to download videos and ringtones for your cellphone. The fee currently stands at GB£ 1.50, or about US$ 2.50. More details, such as which region/s will VidZone be available in, will be revealed when it launches at E3.

» Bravo....

Huh... so they give us something we can already do with youtube.

» You forgot

Killzone 2 also lets you play in-game music when your online or playing a match but not at the menus. Better than nothing right :D.

» Pain is nothign

A lot of psn games let u play music like pain, but its not the best way. Games like KZ2 let u actually play it from ur xmb, but only wen ur online.

But with youtube, you can't download the videos and movies, at least the normally. And you can't send ringtones to your cellphone.

@enigmaticdude:

We discussed the problem several times here on QJ already. Complete ingame-music is not possible, because MS holds a patent on this. It's up to the developers to integrate that.

..Or Sony finds somehow a loophole, but I doubt that. It's already hard enough to integrate music in Home.

If you really want in-game music, get an Xbox.

» Cool

I can watch all my booty dancing hotties with good resolution now lol. J/K, just cool PS3 is such a great system for people who like to do all these things. It's funny to think that the PS3 works better with a PC then 360 ever dreamed of.
