If this one is true, then we are really in for a treat as gaming consoles are putting their best features forward. Apparently, job postings at That Game Company caught the eye of some PS3 spectators. There are openings for 3 positions- Senior Game Engineer, Senior Graphics Engineer, and Lead Artist, and all these openings are for the development of an unannounced title for the PlayStation 3.
According to the job description at the said company, "the position starts immediately and will last for 4-6 months with the potential for employment on future projects. We will be working in-house at Sony's SCEA studios in Santa Monica. This position is an excellent opportunity for an engineer and an artist to work with a small, dedicated team and be involved in all aspects of game engineering on a next-generation console."
When contacted, That Game Company president & developer- Kelee Santiago shared that the game is for a service which will offer downloadable casual games, pretty much like that of the Xbox Live Arcade. The games will become available for download on the PS3's launch day. The still undeveloped game is a port of That Game Company's free game, flOw.
If such is the case, then we can say that the console wars are really heating up now that PS3 will allegedly compete with the popular Xbox Live Arcade which offers downloadable content. When asked for his comment about this, Sony Public Relations Head, Ryan Bowling said that this development is unannounced.
Well, we all know that just because it is unannounced doesn't mean it ain't true. But then again, we can't say it is true until official word about it comes out so let's just wait and see.

i say go for it, why not play the game microsoft is playing? compete where they claim supremacy. sony are facing microsoft and nintendo head on, they're trying to sell a console which beats their rivals on all counts. microsoft's strength is internet stuff, and sony are doing what they can to best them at it. admittedly sony's attempt to super nintendo's innovation (pun intended) by making the controller motion sensitive are slightly half arsed, but you can bet that if wii takes off sony will be looking to expand eyetoy type games, and those which use the motion sensing to full effect.
lets not forget sony are forging their own path too, blue ray, hdmi, linux, eyetoy, psp-ps3 wifi... i can't think of any others, but those features aren't 'copied' at all.

If Sony had released their Next Gen system first, with "Sony Arcade," Microsoft would have followed with their own version. It's standard business practices to take what your competition is doing, offer the same product, but 1-up them somehow. Perhaps all the downloadable games from Sony will be free, and not cost any gaming points or actual money.
But for the love of god, stop *****ing and moaning about some competition. Are you X Box fanboys that insecure with your system that you think Sony will come and steal away the limelight? Why shouldn't Sony fans enjoy some of the features that X Box Live users are enjoying, you selfish bastards? Get over yourselves you tools and enjoy playing video games. This fanboyism is getting waaay out of hand.

Is gamespy wants to move their territory onto the console industry, then thats all it is, Gamespy moving into the console industry. I hate MS fanboys who think Sony is copying Xboxlive. If gamespy makes their system the same as their PC network, it will put Xbox live to shame. PS3 and PC users will be able to play against each other in games with over 16players. While with Xbox360, you have to use Live Anywhere. Alot of online PC games use gamespy technology. And if they use gamespy technology in the PS3, both system can easily connect and play with each other. Dedicated servers are by far, 100x better then the matchmaking system Xboxlive has.
