PS3 sells out at EBGames/Gamestop |

Ó
The rumors are true. And if you do not have a PS3 preorder receipt from Gamestop or EBGames you won't ever get one now. Just 24 hours after the top video game stores announced that they would be accepting PS3 pre-orders from today, Tuesday, October 10 they have sold out. The stores wanted a lump sum of $ 100 for a preorder of Sony's next generation Playstation console which will hit the shelves of North American stores on November 17th this year and only a limited number of PS3 consoles were available for each EBGames/Gamestop store, leading gamers into a mini-lottery that they had a very small chance of winning.
The more addicted gamers from across the US camped out overnight and were first in the stores when they opened to pay their $ 100 deposit and get a place on the golden PS3 pre-order list for the $ 599 60GB version of the console, fighting crowds, and limited supply which ranged from four at a store (in Detroit) to 16 (at a store in Seattle, Washington).
A Gamestop representative told IGN that each store had a quota of "no less than eight pre-orders or up to 16. The number allocated is based on store location and traffic." The rep went on to state that currently pre-orders for PS3 were closed. Currently, there are no pre-orders available in Canada but the representative did say that Canadian PS3 pre-orders will be "available as soon as possible." But surely if no store had less than eight pre-orders, how did that store a Detroit only have four available? Let's hope that it wasn't those dreaded EBGames employees buying all the stock.

I doubt Sony wanted to rush the PS3 out the door but I guess they had no choice.
Either way, I'm a PC user, doesn't affect me.

Because if you do that you are promoting the PS3 right?

This site which is maintained by SEGA Co. has about 3,000 high quality VF5 replays which have been played on the Sega Lindbergh arcade machines in Japan. Sega Lindbergh machines are much powerful than X360 but a bit weaker than PS3. At the site above, the name of replay files are like, FN_02985; and this means it’s 2985th file. They’re adding about 10 new replays every single day. You can also check how good the players are at the start of each round. Some of the world’s best fighting gamers have stats like 2,000 wins 500 losses (against other human players).
I’ll tell you how to download streaming movie files online.
You must have FlashGet (totally free).
After installing it, right mouse click the name of the files (e.g.: SHU(SH)_vs_(SA) 25.5M).
In the ‘property’ you can copy the URL address of the streaming movie file.
javascript:call leftvideo('mms://www.hk-vf.net/vf5_rev.1/SHU_vs_SARAH_04 .wmv')
only pick out the core portion
mms://www.hk-vf.net/vf5_rev.1/SHU_vs_SARAH_04 .wmv
In FlashGet, enter the address and download (press F4) all 3,000 movies you want.
After watching as many as movies you can, you can post feedbacks or small thanks note at QJ here in comment boxes.

WHY WOULD YOU GUYS BE CAMPING OUTSIDE A STORE OVERNIGHT?
DO YOU LOSERS HAVE JOBS OR GO TO SCHOOL???

Besides, arresting people who camp outside during a launch would probably benefit society, because the only people who "camp out" are usually those on Welfare, ghetto people, or gothic internet gaming nerds.

60gb version +
Ridge Racer 7 preordered.(yeah I know)
Why hate on people who want a PS3?
If you got your system last year, be happy and play it.
Sounds like a bunch of envy to me.
If I had a 360 I would be playing Ridge Racer 6 right now (I know. Don't say it), not in a forum dissing potential PS3 owners.
Is it that bad on the other side?
I hope the Xbox marketplace explodes full of content on Nov 17 so our launch day isn't ruined with negative crap.

First off I don't know why you're callimg me that, because what I said is true. People are willing to buy it for 600. And your point even shoows that people will buy it for more. in what way does Sony fail in this regard?
Reply
It's good news for the PS3 that it will probably sell all units at launch. It sucks for the customers that they have to wait though... what kind of "launch" is that?! :)
Everyone who didn't pre-order, please don't give in and buy off an auction site or something once the launch happens... you'll probably regret it later and it sucks knowing that people are buying these consoles to not actually play, but make their own greedy profit.

I did get a 360 on launch but I won't buy a ps3 or wii until next year after they have a descent catalog of games. My 360 sat most of the time because there weren't any games I wanted.

i called my eb games and they gave me this sigh and "Not in Canada yet .. "
we'll probably get half a ps3 per store.

AGGGHH. I HATE GAMESTOP NOW SO MUCH!!!!

I know 2 manager's at EB/Gamestop and I can tell you this right now: Just because they are sold out on "pre-orders" does not mean it will be a successful launch! WHY? Because this time around, EB and Gamestop decided to put a max quota on how many systems could be pre-ordered so that they didn't run into the same fiasco as last year with the x360. (They gave out up to 200 pre-orders per store for the X360 and got shafted when their weren't enough to go around) In order to avoid that type of situation this year, the quota was limited to 16 per store, so no S.H.I.T they sold out of pre-orders. This was also so that come launch day, both chains will have extra models to sell from the floor. I sometimes wonder if you guys even have an education.

So...we skip out and grab a bite. And she stops by on her way back to college and finds out that they had pre orders available until about 3:30PM. Lord was I upset. I was ready to throw something.
But in the end, its just a gaming system and I can wait. So I will! I'll just save up a bit and hope for a little luck! Just maybe, I might be able to get one before the holidays!
