PS3 SDK leaked, debug PKG test file works |

QJ Reader SephXII informs us that PS3News' CJPC was able to create a PS3 Debug PKG Test file in the PS3 Game Data Utility Screen. This means that homebrew developers and "hobbyists" out there no longer need to burn content to Blu-ray Discs while testing code on their Debug machines. Folks are now able to "include executables while making PS3 .PKG files."It was reported in the QJ Forums sometime yesterday that the PS3 SDK was leaked. The v1.60 PS3 SDK reveals that the PS3 "creates a FAT system partition for temporary storage," among other things. The entire SDK comprises 941 directories, 5,551 files and should be around 442 MB large.
As discussed in the QJ.net Forums thread about the 1.80 debug firmware build, the limitation surrounding these developments, as far as most PS3 owners are concerned, is that this isn't exactly "compatible" with retail Sony PlayStation 3 units. That aside, the Debug PKG Test file does offer some hope that a "Hello World" for retail PS3s might be possible in time.

homebrew is the gayest thing. Its a waste of time and if you do it your a looser that has no friends. When i first got my psp the guy at the store told me to go to this sight. It was cool till all the homebrew crap came out. Me and my friend always whent on the comments and make fun of the loosers. Don't bother arguing with him, his maturity level is that of a high school freshman. This statement can be deduced easily just by looking at what he writes. First: He uses gay for everything and as a derogatory term. With any normal person, such an often use of the word tends to diminish at the end of their sophomore year. People may still use the word "gay" to describe things, but they tend to expand their vocabulary after that. Second: He believes that the number of friends one has correlates to the "coolness" of said person. At the awkward teen years, freshmen find that the thing they must do is get as many friends as they can so they feel that they have a place in their new environment. In fact, many can probably recall the saying of "you have no friends" to be widely used among the young and naive. To a high school freshman, this is the ultimate insult, because it is letting people know that he or she is alone. Third: The fact that he is constantly waiting for his friends to come over indicates that he does not have a car or a license to drive a car. A car is the ultimate freedom to a teenager, without it, young teens tend to have "play dates" at friends houses. And finally, the fact that he cannot rebut a statement in an intelligent manner also shows that his comments are filled with rage due to the hormonal imbalance caused by his changing body. Really, homebrew is just another way to say piracy. In Malaysia and other Asian countries, any video game dealer can sell you the homebrew version of the PSP, PS2, Xbox, Wii...etc. You even get to choose a number of free software from his DVD collection of back-up (another word for illegal copies) games to go with your purchase.

blankko, you are so uniformed. Homebrew is no piracy, some people may use it for that but it is more than that. Its a way for a hard core gamer to get a 600 dlls system to do more than just play games. It makes the system a much more robust system that can do much much more with its power.

i really want to make a DJ software for PSP but i dont have the brains for it. there is a software for PS2 named DJ box in japan or DJ Decks + FX for US and EU but its so hard to find.
DJ softwares for PC are great too (PCDJ, Virtual DJ ETC) but a Tablet PC is costly and so are UMPC's like the Vaio UX and the OQO.
is there anybody knowledgeable enough to port those DJ softwares for PC to PSP? or at least make a similar one?
