PS3 Running? |

An anonymous insider over at PS3 Forums (with registered nick "ps3insider") uploaded the two pictures of Sony's coming next-gen console up and running. Both images were taken using a mobile phone. The first picture is a bit tricky, but the green and blue LEDs remind us of PS2. Also, the shot is vertical meaning the floor is at the right side. On the other hand, the next picture shows the back of the PS3. The cable nearer the power switch is the power cable. The other cable is the HDMI cable that goes to the TV.
Also, Ps3insider reported that the console is very quiet save for a little noise at the start while it is booting. He also mentioned the unit they had was turned on for 12 hours and is still working fine with no overheating problems whatsoever. Unfortunately, the insider could not reveal where he got the pictures and how.

I always see the xbox and the xbox360 like an ordinairy pc with a new cover. Even when you open it, it's look and use pc parts. Sony and Nintendo are better in desing and power use.

He got it in TGS, he's one of the guys who installed the system.

im not an xbox360 fan, nor a fan of any console.
meaning i follow all the consoles equally, and so far, i think the Wii is going to be the best console, nintendo just keeps showing, that graphics and power doesnt matter, what people are into are the games.
the ps3 has been getting too much hype, i still dont see whats so great, i guess i would get a ps3....someday. maybe in 2 years when the price drops(but by the looks of whats going to happen, lots sooner) ill buy it. mostly because i love games like killzone and metal gear solid.
the 360 is really good, basically because it has the most reliable online service(xbl) and really good sports and rpg games.
Wii is gonna rock for lots of reasons, mainly the price, the games(lots at launch) and how original the console is.
360 improved its power and graphics.
ps3 did the same, but also added a motion sensor to there controller(ring a bell? is sony so desperate that they need to borrow ideas from nintendo?)
oh yea, and didnt they say they needed to get rid of rumble for it?
i say thats retarded.
one thing that they all have in common that i love is the multimedia, with all the stuff you can do other than games.
here is my rankings:
1st: Wii
2nd: 360
3rd: PS3(not impressed)

I think a better statement would be that Xbox stuck to more traditional architectures
It was really based on standard PC hardware for the time, the Graphics card was a modification of a GEforce 3 and the kernel was a stripped down windows 2000 and all of it was optimized for gaming.
Although the Xbox 360 is definitely more customized
While the PS2 and PS3 were new types
PS2- Emotion Engine and Graphics synthesizer
PS3- Cell, 'nuff said

Here is simple thought:-
PS3 Has good games...
Too pricy...
WII Has mario and zelda and metroid...and few..
It's NOT Cheap..( xbox 1.5 ) with eyetoy +light gun
360 Halo, and Halo...Fable...few games...
Unstable...not good Japanese dev support...
ANd here is for ppl that say "wii is so new and soo innovative......." STFU!!!
HOW????.... they only have Mario...Zelda...and few games....Mario is here since 80s so is zelda....man...wiimote..get's bored too quickly...and the price is not even cheaper...(i'm not sain ps3 is good deal either)...so eyah...go buy PS3 and WII (and wait for Halo 3) then buy x360 by then..it will be cheaper..if u don like halo...then f the 360...DONE... I'm not a fan boy since ...i have ALL the current gen system and handheld...and some old gen...and if u call me nerd...F**K off...u IDIOT...why are u here...oh u are sooo cool mr..I have life...cuzz u have time to read comment on Blogs...and call people "nerd" ..anyway...so that is all...

As for your whole console wars - I for one do root for Sony and if any of you ask I do bleed Sony colors but this is the new era, boys and girls. I fully intend to get all three new consoles as to enjoy all the games in the market. There shouldn't be confusion between the terms "gamer" and "fanboy" - the two terms are entirely separate. A gamer knows all systems and plays thoroughly - a fanboy tends to ignore reason and proof and stick blindly to idealology.
Wake up fanboys and open your minds to new possibilities.

And FFS consoles are consoles not computers, Since when could you use Photoshop, 3dsmax etc etc on a console. F*ck sony
I'm sticking to my intel Core2 and Quad SLi 'nuff said

Nothing personal, as you have never said anything to me. It is just your negativity towards everyone. Cheer

That was more proof than this picture with it turned on.
You could see the the PS3 hooked up to a HDTV running the game...and people were playing. That is real proof if you ask me.

Did We Create the PS3?
by Greg Bergen
"Back in October of 2000, Sony showed the world its next generation console. Complete with a DVD drive, backwards compatibility with the PS1, and gorgeous graphics, the Sony PlayStation 2 was the most anticipated console of the new millennium. With such a large consumer fanbase and brand loyalty to boot, the PS2 was on an imminent path to success. Yet with all its success, outselling the Dreamcast and selling 100 million consoles the PS2 had its fair share of criticism.
People were in agreement that, despite the power of the console and the great games, the PS2 had some noticeable faults. The PS2 only had 2 controller ports. This forced the PS2 fanbase to buy the multi-tap expansion if they desired to play more than 2 to a console. The PS2 had launched without an online plan. Only by the time the Xbox came along, 1 year later, did Sony incorporate online gameplay into the PS2’s functions. However, their online plan wasn’t so great. It felt thrown together; at best it was an attempt to say the PS2 could have online capabilities. The PS2 never had a means to store game information or save files out of the box. This meant consumers had to purchase the memory card (sold separately) in order to save their games. It was clear the people had demands, the demands of the developers, however, were even clearer.
The PS2, despite how powerful and new its hardware was, had some various limitations that the developers did not like. The PS2 needed more RAM. The Processing capabilities of the PS2’s CPU could have had more fine tuning and upgrades. Developing for the PS2 started off as a nightmarish reality and only through time and various skills did developing become slightly easier. The PS2 did not have a hard drive which meant there was little developers could do to decrease the load times of their games. Yes, the developers had spoken. The criticism and complaints the PS2 faced could not be repeated. They would not be repeated. Sony’s answer to those complaints would be revealed at the 2005 Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3).
When May of 2005 came around, everyone was eagerly anticip
