PS3 Rumor: Future Rumble feature? |
Ó
Call it over-reading, but this leads to some interesting speculations regarding this clause. For one, is Sony planning to re-introduce the rumble feature after all? Or, was there a miscommunication with 2K Sports, who assumed the rumble feature was staying? Or lastly, did 2K Sports just port over the game's 360 manual and forgot to remove this little detail? We'll leave the rest of the speculation to you guys, and see what sort of conspiracies you can cook up. Have fun.

Interesting nonetheless.
"Or lastly, did 2K Sports just port over the game's 360 manual and forgot to remove this little detail?"
I would say yes.
I would think it's a typo.
THIS will surely propel the PS3 to the forefront of the console wars!!
I know that, for now, I consider $600 for a console to be outrageous, but if they add a rumble to the controller, oh, I am SOOO there...
Innovation, people, innovation! It's the wave of the future!!
It's not like Nintendo has a rumble feature in that gimmicky Wiimote!
Oh, wait...
$ony had better pay a hefty licensing fee to Immersion so they don't get sued for another 95 million. HA HA
most of ps3 launch games were directly ported from x360 because devs were lazy.
ooo, shaky hands when some guys hears beat... damn I'm gonna miss that feature. rumble is useless guys, get over it
i dunno what to thing of this... my guess is that it was a mistake. but its my hope that they can get rumble back in, even though odds are NOT in sony's favor whatsoever.
I guess this shows you how horribly sad developers are that they simply are porting games over instead of developing it for the damn console. To be honest, THIS is the reason why I love exclusives. I don't think exclusives should be used to bash other consoles. Exclusives are the only hope that a developer will actually develop a game up to the par for the ps3...
***** that Immersion should pay Sony to use the rumble, Immersions the one whos been on Sony's ass ever since they dropped rumble begging them to take it back saying, "its possible its possible come on put it back!".
As for the manual, i think they jus ported it and forgot to take that bit out.
jus cuz the manual was ported doesn't mean that the entire game is (im jus saying this in general, since this game probably was ported).
There is no rumble support in the PS3 unit it self. They could not include it becasue of the lawsuit. They were almost even forced to remove PS2 from store shelves becasue they contained rumble technology. This is nothing but fanboys clutching at straws here.
Your right, the PS3 doesn't. Neither did the PS2. The controller did. So it would be pretty easy for sony to put a PS3 controller with rumble on sale. The current games could be patched to support rumble, and new games could be made to support it.
The only thing stopping sony doing that is immersion, and the money sony would have to pay immersion if sony were to include rumble.
As for the manual - it was probably ported from the 360 manual, and they forgot to change that part
Immersion didn't want to lose anyone in the first place, hence a deal was settled with Nintendo, a deal was settled with Microsoft, but Sony decided to be stubborn, fight and lost.
Therefore Immersion will be more than happy to have Sony back, but I doubt Sony will want to raise questions by doing so.
Too late, Sony, too late!
Care to elaborate? If they do add rumble, games that are already out can be patched to support it and future games made to support it. I don't really see the problem.
On the subject concerning rumble, what's the status on Sony and Immersion? Any news about Sony's appeal?
because sony have stated and i qoute "we cannot incorparate the usual rumble feature as it would affect the motion sensing capabilities" which means if you were playing motorstorm using motion sensing and had rumble you would be driving everywhere except in a straight line on your course. am i right or am i right
Disjunto - rumble does add some nice touch when programmed nicely into game and heartbeat thumps are far better than checking some helth meter whilee missing the action. Also, just try playing a fave ps2 game with no dualshock, i have and I NOTICED IT SUCKS. guns and explosions without rumble blow assss!
Just a thought( sorry if this ideas already out there) maybe with the floor rumbling woofers and surround stereo setups when cranked up, ps3 might not need it. still i would happily trade motion sense for rumble in a second!
You are wrong.

Rumble is possible, and some third-party companies have already been granted the license to use the new rumble technology, mentioned in my first link, in their controllers. When the third-party companies start bringing rumble to the PS3 I'm sure some developers, like Hideo Kojima, will take advantage of it and add rumble-support in their games, then more will follow their example and design/patch their games for rumble, and soon Sony will follow claiming that the rumble problem has been solved. Though, as for Sony, we first have to see what happens between them and Immersion, I'm sure they'll work something out though, especially when you take into consideration that Immersion is already losing money.
I take my last post back, you're not wrong. All you said was that Sony claimed it wasn't possible, which is true, they did claim that. And that the lazy developers are to blame for the rumble mentioned in the manual, which I believe is also true.
Though my points made in my last post still stand, rumble is possible with the new technology.
