PS3 Pro Evolution Soccer gets full 13 league licenses, says PS3Mag in April issue?

Actual PS3 feature or meticulously-designed prank? - Image 1Yes, we know. It's April 1. This writer just sat on an oatmeal bomb for a too-early breakfast, okay? And now this: a nice little interview between PS3 Magazine and Pro Evolution Soccer creator Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka that may have happened... or not. Because it's PS3Mag's April issue.

A member of the European PlayStation community forums posted scans of the inty and feature up because, well, "Konami takes FULL licenses from FIFPro for FIVE YEARS!" This is supposed to be big because:

Seabass: The real uprising will be with the licenses of the teams included in PES7... Thus in PES7 there will be 13 full licensed leagues, the English Premiership, the English Championship, Primera Division, Serie A... (and so on, and so forth...) In my point of view the new licenses makes the game the most complete Pro Evolution Soccer ever.

Hmm, is Ashton hiding in a bush somewhere? Look, I'm not so sure how this licensing thing works out in the professional football/soccer world, but checking up on Wiki, FIFPro, or Federation International de Footballeurs Professionels, it is "a worldwide representative organization for professional football players." They represent the players, not the leagues.

We don't know what to believe anymore, either - Image 1Using FIFA as an example, EA negotiated with the FA Premier League to nab the rights to that League's clubs in the games. Now, maybe negotiating with FIFPro may give rights over using the players in the games, but not the league. Really, I just don't know how these agreements work out - maybe one could negotiate with FIFPro for the teams or the players, or most likely not. Can anyone from FIFPro help us on this?

The interview looks legit enough, but one member of the EU PS community forum noticed that the "trivial" text on the bottom border of the page was meaningless mumbo. Might as well have been "Bawitdaba da bang a dang diggy diggy" and it still wouldn't have helped. No updates like this on the major internet outlets, either.

Better to be safe than sorry, this is going under humor, but honestly, it ain't that funny. Look, if you guys don't get PS3Mag where you live, we're including the PS forum member's scans of the article as evidence for your judicious review. And do yourselves a favor: mind where you sit, for the feel of oatmeal on one's bottom brings back some memories best kept in pre-potty infancy...

» hmmm

it wasnt Sonys april fools, as Sony a)do not make the mag and b) do not make the game. Idiot. Plus, look along the very bottom line of the picture......you'll find the greek word for "April 1st" written all along the botton, plus the whole thing is full of mistakes and bad grammer. Cant believe some loser has took the time out to actually make this thing.
