PS3 Orange Box to get patch in near future?

Valve Software - Image 1Disgruntled and dismayed about what he perceives as a sub-par PS3 release, a fan of Valve Software's The Orange Box posted an open letter to Valve in their official forums, asking the studio to urge Electronic Arts to release a patch to fix the current bugs and flaws in the game. Here is part of what he wrote, in verbatim:

Please Valve, pressure EA to fix the very noticeable faults in the PS3 version. The original release of Half Life 2 was one of the finest moments in interactive entertainment. Please keep it that way. Please EA, listen to your consumers... release a patch to fix what should not have been in there from the start.

The gamer also noted what he believes as Valve Software's "nonchalant stance" towards the quality of the PS3 version of The Orange Box. For the record, Valve Software's Gabe Newell has expressed his own disappointment towards Sony's next-gen console, even to the extent of calling it "a waste of time."

However, what is noteworthy about the open letter is that a Valve employee replied to the post, somehow hinting about a future patch with the words "I hope that we will be able to correct any major issues in the future." Will this be the confirmation many gamers are waiting for? Do stay tuned.

Ok, so reading this, and "Johns" thread over at the Steam Forums, I'm confused, he clearly states that there are a lot of issues, but then only references TF2, then goes on to mention (as quoted above) that "The original release of Half Life 2 was one of the finest moments in interactive entertainment."

Am I missing something?! I've got TOB, inho Portal is perfect, HL2 seems perfect (3/4 into it), so where are all these problems!?

I managed to get into TF2, granted the "lobby" form 360 and PC is missing, but apart from that it's fine.

Or am I just being stoopid!?

My TF2 has lagged up a couple times, and HL2 has way to many load points every few minutes you have to load and it just ruins the flow of the game. Portal runs perfect.

They should of fixed any problems to begin with. Gabe Newell's retarded opinion or not.

Yeah, that was stupid. "I hate the PS3, it sucks..but I want my games on it anyway."
