PS3 modifies "Achievements" feature |

Microsoft Corporation has always boasted about its online gaming service, Xbox Live. Probably a pioneer in its own right, this online feature has been, for a number of times, a redeeming factor of the X360. As of this week in fact, a grand total of 4 Million users have logged on and used Xbox Live since its introduction in 2002.Not to be outdone, Sony included an online service for its soon to be born baby, the PlayStation 3. However, it would be hard for gamers of the rival console to just jumped in and shout "copycat" for Sony tweaked its gamerscore features and SCEA Executive V.P. Jack Tretton thinks its a rather intelligent change.
Instead of having the "Achievements" feature Xbox Live style, PS3 would have it in a game by game basis. "It's very difficult to draw analogies your success on SOCOM and your success on Madden. Madden players care about peoples' success on Madden," Tretton declares. Publishers, as the executive put it, would then have a robust ranking system on a game-centric level rather than pan-platform style.
As of now though, Sony has yet to come up with a name for this, although the name "Entitlements" has been mentioned in some speculations. Also, there would be a total of 19 online games at launch day. Tretton can not ascertain whether those games will have the mentioned feature or not though.

i like achievements cuz i got 9000 by the way ps3 sucks if you want to waste your money go head by the way half the games at launch are on 360 fight night 3 came out about a year ago on 360
is it sony's fault that 360 launched a year earlier than ps3 no. so sony being the smart ppl they are took the cons and pros of the 360 and improved on it. ps3 is gonna clean out.

xbox are not jealous...hmm it contradicts their statements every time some good news comes out for the PS3. and i don't think it's not wrong to copy XBL as long as you SONY can improve it and add features that are not available in XBL. good for consumers who haven't bought a XBOX 360 yet. and take note, it's free to play it online. regarding games. take note that 19 PS3 online games available on launch day. you might say that, well i have played this games 6 months or 1 year now in my XBOX 360....sure! but did you guys think that only certain gamers of that 6 Million XBOX 360 have played these games? and more than 150+ million gamers and consumers are still out there undecided which system and games to buy.
why cant they be original, you didnt see xbox copying ps2, they came out with their own style, and people loved it. so all sony did this time around is wait for mistakes to be made with the 360, and try not to make them. This may be good for business sake, but seems pathetic

Why do people feel the need to troll? I have a 360 and i'm glad to hear that the ps3 will have an achievment feature. Stop spending all your time hating one console - if yours is so great - why arent you playing it now? and why do you come on here to troll? wtf is wrong with these people!!!
