HDMI cableHigh Definition has always been regarded as the next-step in entertainment, especially in video gaming. While the Xbox 360 came up with a feature similar to this, Sony has always maintained that theirs is the "true HD," allowing support for 1080p resolution.

When it launches, the PlayStation 3 will be the most expensive among all the next-gen consoles. Given that however, interested buyers should be ready to shell out more if they want to connect their consoles via HDMI, as we reported earlier, PS3s ain't gonna come with HDMI cables. For those still not aware, HDMI refers to High-Definition Multimedia Interface, the all digital audio/video setup that allows transfer of uncompressed streams.

Electronics company Monster Cable Products, Inc. will retail its PS3 HDMI-10 cable for $69.95. The 10-foot cable is currently available for a pre-order offer within within the U.S. and to APO/FPO addresses.

The cable features a duraflex protective covering, dual strain reliefs to prevent damage and 24k gold contact Turbine connectors. It is said to provide high-conductivity connections for optimum transfer of delicate low-level signals.

» What is this supposed to mean?

I mean, do you want to tell us that you can actually buy HDMI cables when the PS3 comes out? Amazing revelation!

Or did you just want to scare some gamers with a 70$ price tag? Then i can tell you now: where i live, i can get 10' HDMI cables starting from 6€ right now... of course you can scale the price tag up with better quality or cooler company names (it's a MONSTER!), but not everyone needs 10' cables with golden connectors.

» Monster Cables and other companies

Only rip you off, unless you're into those kind of bull*****.

I heard cheap ones go under $10 with free shipping.

It's funny how "Pre-Rendered" becomes "No HDMI included"

when it comes to PS3 taunts.

It means the public has accepted that the graphics are as good as the Pre-Rendered stuff, so the only thing they can rip on is the cables....lol

» Stop trying to subconciously bash the PS3

FOR CHRISTS SAKE knock it off QJ....

That's 7$ before shipping and I wasn't even trying. That took me a whole 45 seconds to look up. Everyone that reads this and anyone that would be hardcore enough to get a PS3 at launch time (non ebayers that is) will know better than to buy anything with "Monster Cable" attached to it. They are a well known 3000% markup product maker. Go to Bestbuy, what do they sell? Pretty much ONLY Monster Cable. Why? Because they are puttin a 10ft HDMI cable in your butt and watching Bluray movies in your eyes. Stay away from Monster Cable, I have never had a generic cable fail on me, not once. By the time one does, that cable will be worth pennies anyway. sheesh....

HDMI cables transfer data digitally. This means that the signal provided through a HDMI cable will either be perfect, or non-existant. $70 cables provide no picture or sound improvement over

What happened to the rest of my comment?? Anyway, I finished off with saying that $70 cables provide no picture or sound improvement over

» HDMI cables are NOT expensive

Go to http://www.monoprice.com

the HDMI cables there are just as good as the ones they sell everywhere else. difference is: at radioshack, for example, they make them more expensive so employees can get more money from their commission.... which is bull*****.

i already bought mine from here, and it works great!

Aaargh not again, QJ, please fix your comments section, it seems to have trouble with the less than symbol.

Okay, for the third time:, $70 cables provide no picture or sound improvement over [less than symbol]$10 cables, except better build quality, which isn't worth the extra $60.

Save yourself the money and get yourself an extra game at launch.

» IT'S MONSTER!

Monster has always been the top of the line, super expensive solution for any cable. They make great products but you can get much cheaper products that do the exact same job.
