Well, theoretically, the PS3 is getting a "price cut" in the sense that you can purchase a unit for cheaper. Waaay, cheaper. Sony's offering a deal: "Get a new PlayStation 3 system for as low as US$ 250*!" Whew - that's like... Nintendo Wii cheap! Definitely a steal, yes? But you'd have to read the fine print. It is banal to dismiss asterisk signs, especially in deals.
This deal is actually more of a promotional campaign for the PlayStation Credit Card, rather than a permanent price cut. As announced a few weeks ago, the PlayStation Credit Card will be ushering a PS3 discount for the rest of the year, thus giving everyone that temporary US$ 150 discount.
There are three ways to start your journey with the Plastic of Unlimited Glory/Bankruptcy. If you're taking that plunge to the land of no return, you can apply for a PlayStation Credit Card via Sony.com, SonyRewards.com, or and Sony Style store. (Or you can head to the source link below).

if a friend hasnt gotten a ps3 yet. im gonna come wit my friend to but the ps3, and use my card, he'll pay me with cash, and its all good!
plus, itll help out ur credit and give u free PSN points!
and im sure not to overuse a credit card, im pretty stingy
consumer spending could make everyone better off in the end...
Only the ps3 still had backwards compatability and all those other features that were taken out(4 usb ports, flash card reader.)
