Head's up to all PlayStation 3 owners, the latest system software update v3.50, which enables 3D blu-ray playback support for the console, is now live and ready for download over at the PlayStation Network.
Announced last week, the update also includes:
- Facebook Integration: Developers will be able to create PS3 games that have more interaction with Facebook. Once compatible PS3 titles are available, PS3 users can choose to access public information on Facebook – including user name, profile, uploaded photos and friends list – to enhance their gameplay experience.
- Grief Reporting Function: Users can send claim reports directly from the XMB for any inappropriate messages they receive from other PlayStation Network users. This feature is accessible from the option menu of the messages list in the FRIENDS category.

Guess Sony can be credited for one thing, consistently shitting the bed when it comes to their updates lol It would be nice if Sony Japan would let the reins go and allow the NA team to do their own thing with updates, maybe just maybe we would see more worthwhile updates.

Why? the only reason I can think of is for those type of people that told the teacher at school when someone did the slightest thing outside of the rules.
If someone gets on your nerves that much, just block/mute them and dont be an arse yourself. no-one just starts on people randomly on psn. if you're having problems have you ever thought it might be because of you.

Do you know me? No so don't assume, I never said I had problems or am thankful that finally after all this time I can tell the teacher someone is misbehaving.
The point is not whether my precious feelings are hurt by some 13yr old talking trash, the point is a "feature" like that is something most would consider a day one addition not something added 4 years after release.

Beside people "start on people" for no reason all the time, ever played SF4 or and FPS on line. Sorry but there are racist assholes online, who think your "black voice" is reason to mess with you. But most online games have a report feature, why not have one for your inbox, other than the fact you can just block them.

i reckon this update is awesome.
i love the way people whinge about updates because they cant use its features. i have a 3D TV and after watching a couple 3D blurays, i have to say props to sony.
just because you dont have a 3D TV, doesn't mean no one has one and sony should avoid the feature.

So the next thig Sony should do is make use of its new API in the xmb. Add a Facebook folder to the Images folder, to provide convenient browsing of the Facebook photos featuring the active user and also from another folder with pictures uploaded by that user.
Should also add it to that photo slides app thingy.
