PS3 Firmware 2.20 now live |
Ó

Good news, Sony PlayStation 3 owners! The highly-anticipated new firmware for your Cell Processor-powered beastie is finally here, and it's come with an update that's sure to make your Blu-ray or DVD-watching experience just a bit more next-gen. So while you're firing up your media center to download this free-of-charge treasure, here's the changelog to fill us in on the details:
- Playlists that were created in Music and Photo can now be copied along with the content they contain to a PSP system. You can play the content on the PSP system in the order that was set on the PS3 system.
- BD Profile 2.0 is now supported. With BDs that support BD-LIVE, you can access internet content for the BD.
- Resume play* can now be used on a BD or DVD even if the PS3 system has been turned off or the disc has been ejected. However, there are some discs on which resume play cannot be used.
- DivX content that exceeds 2 GB can now be played. Also, subtitles can now be displayed for DivX content.
Unfortunately, the PSP Portable Copy feature,as announced, did not make the cut this update - so we'll be waiting for it to pop up in a future firmware release. In the meantime, enjoy!

I guess just to download and install, then find out for myself :)

not to mention my Japanese porn collection are mostly in DivX and WMV format and some of them are over 2GB... so good stuff!

What's bad is that I don't have any bluray with 2.0 support, I wanted to try it :(...

Question, is there any films out now that support 2.0(not sarcasm)? If so, i'll have to pick one up.

I just checked the Amazon page for the BD of SawIV , The 6th Day, and Walk Hard. I didn't see anything mentioning BD2.0 capabilities. Incidentally, I also checked out those three movies on Blu-ray.com, and again saw nothing mentioning BD2.0. (Sorry, I found mention of BD2.0 on Blu-ray.com for SawIV, but it was buried in the review...)
So, basically, in the future, how do I know when I'm buying a BD disc if it has the 2.0 capabilities w/o referencing a list? Or will it be a surprise when I get home and pop it into my PS3?
I've been wondering the same about BD1.1....

Really cool that the BD/DVD can be ejected and the system shut down and still do this.
And I don't think those pictures are real.
If they were, wouldn't they follow the same theme as the new pictures of the slim and right-now-PS3's?
Colored with the light tinted wave flowing through them?

Number 2: This "copy playslists to PSP" feature sounds nice, but I can't find it anywhere when in Remote Play. How do I download stuff onto the PSP from the PS3? When I choose "copy" it only says "insert the storage medium". Will I need the latest PSP FW to do this? I have 3.80 M33-5, if I remember it correctly.
A cookie to all who answer :)
