PS3 Fallout 3 won't get trophies at launch |
Ó
PlayStation Universe has a new report up for all the PS3 owners out there who are planning on picking up a copy of Fallout 3. According to Bethesda's Pete Hines, the game won't come with trophies upon release. Of course, that doesn't mean the game won't have trophies in the future, as it seems the possibility of trophies in the future is still open. "It remains to be seen what we do down the road," said Hines. "It wasn't something we were able to incorporate into the game for launch."
Keep checking QJ for updates on Fallout 3 and don't forget: when the bomb comes, duck and cover.

Any game that was at a relatively advanced stage in the development process when trophies became available likely won't come with trophy support out of the box.
360 has exclusive DLC so I won't be playing the game (but most people who have played the previous games won't play this game either because this game ruins the series just like how Shadowrun for 360 did).
Doesn't really matter anyways seeing as the game itself it a trophy enough. ;)
While it sucks, I thought for a moment and then realized I play game for fun, not for trophies. If they add it in the future, it's all good, but it shouldn't upset anyone looking forward to the game.
I do hope that Sony pushes trophies a little harder tho. It's pretty much a mandatory thing on 360 games and so far it's like "Well... if ya want to add em, go ahead" kinda deal with PS3 games lately.
that makes this game bad? ......... your logic confuses me
Yeah, the 360 might get like 3 extra armor suits you can buy, that are purely cosmetic, and maybe an extra gun. That definitely means it's not worth buying the PS3 version. your logic is incredible.
DNAgent has two arguments. The first one is rather silly; he is saying that he won't get the game because the 360 will get more content. He might argue that he doesn't like to play games with exclusive content, or maybe he just has something against Microsoft corporation. Regardless, his first argument is silly.
His second argument is that most people who played the previous Fallout games, Fallout 1 + 2, won't play this game because it ruins the series. I have played those games and I agree with his point. Bethesda completely mutilated the gameplay and basically made this into an "Oblivion with Guns."
Bethesda reduced the amount of choices that the player can make, even when they insist on saying the contrary. They say that this game has over 100 endings, which is just ridiculous. A small variation in dialogue or a different sound clip does NOT constitute a different ending.
Not only that, but Bethesda added other silly things. You can now fire a friggin' nuclear bomb from your arm. Anyone else sees a problem with this?
Other changes include less player stats, and less violence. They say that this game is uber-violent, but it doesn't include prostitution, groin shots, or children. The game is set in the post-nuclear future and IT DOESN'T HAVE CHILDREN. Wow, how realistic! It probably won't have sex or cult jokes either.
They reduced the amount of easter eggs in the game, and those that exist (and we know of) are lame.
They hired Liam Neeson to do the voice-over for the main character's father, but you can't kill your father. In the original Fallout games, you could kill ANYONE you like. The original Fallout games gave you an inmense amount of freedom for EVERY quest. EVERY major quest could be completed by killing everyone, forming allies, whoring yourself, drugging your oponent, or simple smooth talking. You could finish the game without firing a single shot if you wanted to. Bethesda already confirmed that you will NOT be able to finish the game without firing a bullet. Way to give us choice.
Now don't get me wrong. This game will probably be good. The physics and graphics look great, and the gameplay is different, but PLEASEEE don't call this Fallout 3 as it is NOT a sequel. It is EXTREMELY different from Fallout 2.
I will not get it because Bethesda totally ruined my childhood memories. I grew up with Fallout 2. probably finished it over 10 times and it never got old. I still play Fallout 2 even today!
I'm not gonna stand here and say "don't get the game", because you will just give me 0 stars and buy it anyway. I will ask you though to call this game "Oblivion with Guns." This is NOT Fallout 3. Fallout 3 was already finished but got trashed due to financial problems. Look up the "Van Buren project" if you want to know the REAL Fallout 3.
I never played any of the older Fallouts and probably never will. I doubt I'll even buy this one. Regardless, it's still a sequel. What's the difference between FFX and FFIX? We'd be here all day talking about differences and whatnot. It's still a sequel though.
Either way it goes, they'll make tons of money even if a lot of veteran Fallout players won't buy it.
The canon and background story do not match, so they can't be sequels.
And it's not a wall of text. It is a well-written, paragraphed, small essay that has points and supports them.
