Even though David Jaffe had ultimately left Sony Computer Entertainment America behind (SCEA) to start his own development studio EAT SLEEP PLAY, it seems that his relationship with the previous company remains intact. His company's new project is a PS2 port of the PSP video game Twisted Metal: Head On. Aside from that, it was also revealed that EAT SLEEP PLAY is focusing on Sony consoles with the first three being exclusives. David Jaffe told GamePro that the said exclusives will be released on the PlayStation 3. He explained:
I can't disclose themes but the new game is medium to hardcore in terms of gameplay and will focus heavily on multiplayer. I am more excited about this game than anything I have ever worked on. I cannot wait to unveil it.
When the creation of the new development studio was first announced, David Jaffe said that they will be focusing on small-scale downloadable titles such as Calling All Cars. However, he mentioned that it is up to Sony on whether it wants to distribute the exclusive games as such or on Blu-ray disc format.
The first game from David Jaffe's new studio in Salt Lake City, Utah is expected to be available some time in 2008.
