Pre-ordered mine from game on saturday. Guaranteed one for launch. Mine wont be going on Ebay because i actually want the bloody thing. And we are not fazed by the price because our wages are higher than an american in an equivelant job. It's all relative people!

Got mine

Clicked online Argos website and now have mine reserved, got a letter stating its being delivered by courier on friday 23rd march! Is mine going on Ebay, nope! I can't see that many are going to be on ebay as people over here actually want the machine... Gonna get Resistance, motorstorm, F1 or boxing + extra pad + remote and hopefully Casino Royale aswell so its all good.... :D

Pre Ordered

I Pre Ordered 2 last year, one from play.com and one from Gamestation. I Only did so to guarantee I got 1. Play have confirmed I will get one on launch day, but Gamestation haven't, problem is I would prefer to get it from Gamestation as Play are making me buy a bundle and I don't want Genji !!! If I haven't heard from Gamestation before release I will cancel that one, I don't think there will be much of an eBay market anyway as you can already buy them from the US for less.

Well, recently people have been vandalizing ebay sales by bidding ridiculous prices and not paying, so I'd hate to be the guy pissed off from his Ps3 not selling ^^;, as for record Preorders, "woo?"

I highly doubt pre-orders would go up on ebay because you can buy a US model(including shipping) for probably less than they would need to pay over there. The number going onto ebay in the UK will be slim.

its just gonna get worse in the future. Popular items? you bet! everyone learns from the previous generation. playstation3 was not even close to how ps2/slim ps2 was on ebay. I didnt get an extra ps2 when it lanuch in the US.... but guess what, I learned my lesson and made sure i got a slim ps2 and an extra ps3 at launch. It wasnt a secret that the ps2 was the #1 selling game console, so thats what drove people to think that the ps3 is next in line. I never knew the original Tickle me elmo would be so big, but I made sure I bought 5 TMX Elmos last year. I missed out on the xbox1 during release....but made sure i jumped the gun on the x360. last year was the first time i camped out on black friday. I only bought 2 laptops..one for myself. Now i learned to go next year and grab every brochure they hand out and scalp those too. im sure everyone has thought about selling high ticket items on ebay. its gonna get a lot more popular in the future especially when the media shows how much profit can be made.

Sony's PS3 goal was 6 million units shipped by the end of March, before the European PS3 launch. It is impossible to reach that goal (trust me it is) so there will be around 2 million unsold consoles in warehouses. Send that 2 million to Europe and there will be PS3s sitting on the shelves there after all the die hard fans have theirs. Make another 6 million PS3s for the rest of the year, and sony is done with production until 2008.

Try to be sensible for a bit now, look at the PS3 sales in Japan and come on if this machine is going to be big its there that it needs the big sales BUT they are low,(and they have plenty of stock) they have recently released Virtue Fighter 5 it sells a lowly 30 thousand(remember how many PS3 consoles we are all told have been sold there?) but the worse point is VF5 has NOT helped sell more consoles, so just wait and see but I think the PS3 in Europe is going to find it hard going against the Wii and 360(dont forget Europeans Australians etc buy American/Chinese products) and Christmas being such a short while gone could also have a bad impact and lets not forget the Wii will also be available to buy again as well.

Most people have no idea about importing, or it being cheaper from the US, and wil be too tied up thinking about what if it didn't work with their TV, and where they'd get a step down converter to import.
