The time when a PS3 arrives in your hands, whether it be through delivery to your home or collection at your local games store, should be a joyous occasion. Even though the PS3 isn't due for release until November 17th, today you have the opportunity to see the reaction of a group of gamers (from the PSM3 office) who got their PS3 earlier than the general public. Of course, just seeing the enjoyment on their faces would be a little bit boring wouldn't it?

That's why we have a total of 3 videos for you to watch today, the first being the reactions of the PSM3 team when the PS3 arrives. Second is the PS3 startup sequence, which includes and explanation. Last but not least is a video showing the PS3 menu exploration. It's a lot to watch, but it's the closest thing to being there in real life. Most gamer's won't even get to see this until they have a PS3 in their hands, so enjoy!

Please examine the PS3 next to that T.V it is almost the same size in width. Please but your denial aside and except that your console is huge. No big deal.

Yes well at least the power supply is internal. Unlike that huge brick the 360 has for a power supply.

haha you never see this kind of excitement when review sites and game mags got their preview 360's before their launch. Just goes to show how much ps3 kicks ass.

PS3 ftw!!

woot the ps3 allows bd copies, lets hope that f/w version gets leaked, and the bd drives get cheaper aswell as teh discs.

by . - 2006-10-25 13:09
» .

they probably wernt allowed to show the load times because the games are pre-release and would reflect the actual released game load times.

» WOW

WOW, did you guys see how cool around the CD Feeder looked, all chrome and shiny.

The PS3's size doesn't seem that big to me, its big but not as big as everyone is saying it is.

by JimmySunderland - 2006-10-25 14:48
» Those are debug PS3's...

Retail PS3's won't be able to read copied games. And Blu-Ray discs use AACS copy-protection so they'll be difficult to pirate.

by asd - 2006-10-25 14:54
» yes..

its funny how they cut the video right in the middle of the *long* black loading screen. the console itself looks very nice though..

by Shek - 2006-10-25 15:17
» wow

could those Emo Brits be any more g@y about getting a new game system...? They are all taking deep breathes...lmao...they gotta get laid or something...

by pythn2005 - 2006-10-25 15:48
» no brick

not that big by the looks of its only like an inch or 2 and atleast it doesn't have a power brick thats quarter the size of the machine itselft

» jealous

whats wrong jealous that the ps3 actually has some impact on people not just another xbox with slightly better graphics

» annoying...

does anyone think that the "tink" "tink" "tink" noise when scrolling through options is annoying? (Vid 3) I wish they used a different sound or I hope they enable the user to change it or most likely disable it.

by aguycalleddave - 2006-10-26 03:28
» you can change the volume and the sound

I saw in a video somewhere about button blip volume and I'm sure you can change the sound.

by sunny - 2006-10-26 03:47
» ?

u DO realise it has internal battery supply, dont u ?

O, and a BD drive ?

i mean, imagine sticking the xbox 360 supply brick AND the HDD drive to a 360 - only then - would u get the full size of a 360./

if comparable to the PS3

by Sure - 2006-10-26 05:50
» Yah ok.

I'd rather have the big power brick on my 360 and hide it behind my couch or under something and have my nice small sized 360 than having no choice but having that huge ass dusty boat sized PS3. Again, shhhh. It's huge, no big deal.

Oh yes, that power supply is in the PS3? Why not just have it out and so the console looks smaller and you can hide the power brick? Smarter imo then having a HUGE console taking up a ton of space. Even if you fangirls can't agree you know I'm right. Now you girls be nice to each other and braid each others hair.

by E - 2006-10-26 06:37
» Power supply and heat

Yeah, I know that one argument to have a separate brick power supply like the 360 is that you can make the console smaller. My bigger concern, though, is that the power supply generates heat. Wouldn't it have made sense to have an external power supply to lower heating and potentially reducing fan noise?

by Yup - 2006-10-26 06:49
» Good point

Agree's with the above poster.

Well, I do remember they made fun of the power brick (Sony) so I think they wanted to avoid the same so instead they put inside which indeed isn't a good idea. Besides, it looks so damn big.

» Internal Brick and PS3's cooling technology

Perhaps some of you who are 360 fanboys forget (or want to forget) the fact that the PS3 uses a cooling technology thats superior to the primitive fan/heatsink combo of the 360. Apparently, the PS3 can afford to have it's power supply built-in due the PS3's thermal-pipe cooling that efficiently transfers heat out quickly while being nearly silent. From it's appearance, to it's sound (or lack there-of, to it's hardware and it's upcoming list of games, the PS3 has the 360 beat by-and-large.

Oh yea, and don't forget to keep your 360 power supply bricks in a well-ventilated environment. You don't want your precious 360s burning out on you, do you?

by Hmmmm - 2006-10-26 11:21
» Above Poster

You're quite ignorant it seems. I think I remember when the PS3's were overheating at the Tokoyo Game Show, so please don't talk again and remember your precious PS3 isn't perfect.

Also Sony can afford it? Last time I checked their struggling with money and keep losing stocks, so please again, stfu and don't talk since your quite ignorant to everything it seems. Let another fangirl talk since some of them no a lot more than you. Go paint your toe nails.

use correct english and maybe i will... except > accept

by PS3ftw - 2006-10-26 16:18
» Above Poster who's pissed

Oh and don't forget to mention that the PS3s at the TGS were all enclosed in a single large display side-by-side with poor ventilation in an area filled with ton of people. Looks like you convieniently left out that detail in you're post. The irony of calling someone else ignorant, in your case, is laughable.

And what does Sony being able to afford anything have to do with it? It's confirmed that the PS3 has this custom cooling system built in. Your incompetence is remarkable.

The 360 is second-rate in almost all respects next to the PS3. From it's bland software selection to it's mediocrity overall, the 360's days in the sun are over once the PS3 comes out. Try not to get your panties in a bunch next time, k?

by Yah sure - 2006-10-27 03:28
» Above poster

Hmmm, if it was such advanced heating technology and so great it shouldn't have over heated cause remember its perfect in everyway.

Of course you can't think of anything else cause your name clearly states your a PS3 fangirl. 2nd rate hmmm? last time I checked its up to par with almost everything. So lets see here, by the time PS3 is finally stable I believe their will be a Xbox 4, and Sony will be in a huge finicial bind they wont beable to compete.

Also, Xbox 360 is year old technology and still is able to produce almost the same graphics as the PoS3? pretty sad that Sony spent so much time on their Super Machine when its really not even that great. Ignorant you call me? I believe most your posts are ignorant. Lets give you a new name "Ignorant Fangirl" Suits you better imo.
