PS Home updated with more games, possible DivX compatiblity |
Ó
PlayStation Home Beta has just been given an update according to online site Console-exploits, and with it came a lot of exciting improvements and possibly DivX support in the future. Leaks from the beta has been an iffy topic since PS Home Director Peter Howard warned testers that they will ban those who don't "behave properly".
Anyway, it was revealed that the Home Square is finally available for testers. Speaking of which, an important modification has been made with the Home's system regarding downloads. According to the above mentioned site, players will be given more options because the locations have been made into optional downloads.
That means that player can opt not to download certain places like the cinema if he/she thinks that it will not be useful for his/her experience anyway. Also, one particular screenshot has hinted PS home is compatible with DivX. There are a lot more to be revealed in the future but in the mean time, just a look at the screenshots below.

One problem, though ... the fact that this logo was seen in HOME doesn't prove that it's in. It's quite possible that the video that was playing in this HOME snapshot was from somebody's private collection, and was a PS3 video transcoded from DIVX to MP4 for PS3 (the re-encoding process often burns in a DIVX logo because of a clever but annoying feature DIVX built into the codec.) So, who knows, but it's sure be nice.
