Prototype sure is rolling along quite well now. The wait for the sandbox action game isn't a long one either. Today, we hear via press release that Alex Mercer's retail debut has finally been confirmed.

Radical Entertainment and Sierra Entertainment's Prototype for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC is now scheduled for release on June 5 in Europe and June 9 in North America. Coupled with this announcement, the dev team's kind enough to give us a bit of a teaser too.

Below, you'll find the first half of the intro cinematic used in the game. Amazing freaky stuff going on. And of course, lots of explosive shockwaves and the kickass Alex:

So glad this game was done by Activision. The gameplay looks explosive and that cinematic above is a nice compliment. This is gonna be a fierce contender for InFamous.

This game looks sort of "similar" to Infamous...

but i'd prefer prototype.

» Ugh.

It's not by Activision. They may be publishing, but Radical Entertainment - based in Vancouver, BC is developing the game... why is it everyone think's the publisher is the developer!

Hell I bet you think Activision developed Call of Duty too huh?

*shakes head.
