Pro Evolution Soccer Not XBox 360 Exclusive, Says Konami |

"Note to Microsoft: You're not special."
Perhaps that's what Konami should have put on a giant banner at Leipzig Games Convention. Some tensions arose during the Leipzig Games Convention as a result of what seems to be misleading PR. Microsoft announced earlier that they would have exclusive rights to both Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer and EA's FIFA Soccer for the 360, monopolizing the soccer games for the newest generation of consoles.
Luckily for fans of football, Pro Evolution Soccer's "Seabass" Takatsuka set the record straight on the exclusivity of their game. According to him, "The presentation was misleading. We never said exclusive for one year on the next-gen platforms. We said this year. We were agreed that it was this year."
Since the announcement was bound to piss off other console makers, it's a good thing Seabass said the equivalent of "Shut yo' mouth, foo'!" at Microsoft's statement. Expect a non-360 version of the ball-kicking extravaganza to come out next year, and remember, "If you piss off the Seabass, you get a boot in the ass."

XBox fans don't have to make any excuses, that's something for XBox *fanboys* to do.
There's a difference betweens fans and fanboys. Learn to differentiate between the two. :)

Quote: "We're very pleased to be bringing the next-generation edition of "Pro Evolution Soccer 6" exclusively to Xbox 360 until late summer 2007," said Hans-Joachim Amann, Head of European Product Management at Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "The power of Xbox 360 takes our critically-acclaimed franchise to new heights of realism, playability, and fun. We know true soccer fans will enjoy the new experiences that "Pro Evolution Soccer 6" on Xbox 360 will offer."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe late summer 2007 is actually one year from now!
I know I asked for an explaination, but here's my reasoning...
I think the confusion comes from the fact that MS are saying it's exclusive for one year from TODAY, however many assumed they meant one year from the game's release, which is not the same thing.
Hence MS's statement about exclusivity at Leipzig was correct, but they should have made it clearer that it is exclusive for the 360 for one year starting from today.

Makes sense.
This year, or year from now. Sometimes, one might confuse:D

all that means is, your going to pay 80 bucks for a game that fits on a standard DVD...that will only cost 360 fans 70...10 bucks more for the same game.

Many gamers actually believe GTA4 is exclusive to the 360. Others believe that only the 360 will get episodic content (R* has said they havent announced it for the PS3 because they don't know much about the PS network).
Now many people truly believe that 360 is the only platform getting Fifa and Winning Eleven titles. All platforms except the PS3 and Wii are getting these titles. Plus PS3's tittles are coming early next year.

FUD is bending the truth to create fear, doubt and uncertainty about the competition. MS creates massive amounts of FUD articles againts Linux, OSX, ipod, Java, and yes PS consoles. Google microsoft fud and any of the keywords above to learn more about their strategy.
FUD: IBM created it, MS perfected.

I've listened to all three E3 conferences numerous times, and in the MS conference, Peter Moore didn't say GTA4 was exclusive to the 360 (listen to it again), hence all those who believe it is have THEMSELVES to blame. The same is true with episodic content. I knew what the situation was with GTA4 when I heard it, I'm sure you did too, but if others thought different then THEY are at fault, not MS.
And as for the football games, again, MS didn't say only the 360 will have them, they said one year exclusive, so anyone who didn't understand what was being said or didn't listen properly also have themselves to blame.
"FUD is bending the truth to create fear, doubt and uncertainty about the competition."
Which is the point about GTA4 and the football games, the truth was NOT bent.
But I remember what Sony did against the dreamcast! Claims that the PS2 was 25 times more powerful than the DC, with specs that appeared to confim it (66 million polygons per second!), the revolutionary Emotion Engine - a processor which would result in realism in games, online plans they described as "jacking into the matrix" etc. All examples of bending the truth, intended to put as much distance between the PS2 and DC as possible, creating great doubt about the DC in the minds of gamers and developers, and it WORKED. Gamers and developers held back from the DC because the PS2 was going to blow it away!
More recently there was Sony's comparison of the PS3 to the 360, again using the same tactics. Not ony was the 360 nothing more than XBox 1.5 (according to Ken), but the PS3 was twice as powerful because it offered double the TFLOPS, and look, here's Killzone to prove it ("Shhh, don't tell them it was pre-rendered guys, let them think it was realtime!" *wink*). All designed to put doubt in the minds of gamers and developers about the 360. Again it worked, but fortunately not as much as with the DC. Today you still have people thinking the PS3 is twice as powerful as the 360 and that Killzone was running in realtime.
I'm not saying MS are any better than Sony in this respect, however, I'm certainly not going to single them out and act as if Sony are innocent of using such tactics.
